No Cech at his peak is miles better than Carlo! Petr Cech has been unfortunate with some seasons couple of years ago but now hes just brilliant! Who ever says Carlo was better then Cech does not no nothing about Goalkeepers!

Carlo won us so many games (effectively) making saves that shouldn't even of been possible, you almost never get that from cech...or any other keeper in the PL

Chelsea signed Cech because Carlo is aging, and thats normal, and Chelsea need replacement, simple as that. Look at Chelsea now, we only have Hilario and inexperienced Turnbull to cover Cech, so sad. I'd rather have Carlo instead of those two.

For a period of a couple of years he was probably the best goalkeeper out there, he should have left as soon as it was obvious that Cech was not going to fail, he should have gone to Arsenal or United. The save from Van Nistelrooy is still one of the best ever premiership saves..

Brilliant thanks for posting. Best Chelsea keeper since Bonetti. At his peak one of the very best in the world. Funny but I saw his debut aginst Oxford (I think) Carling Cup. He played second half and I don't think he touched the ball, not even a goal kick. A true great.

Thanks for commenting. Yes cudicini is a true great and should be remembered for a long time. I think his debut was against Huddersfield in '99 in a 1-0 defeat. The goal was a screamer though

@markbuikema Hi Yep I honestly do. The two and a half seasons he was Chelsea no 1 he was fantastic hardly any errors and some unbelievable saves. He was (and still is) a fantastic goalkeeper and should be remembered as one of the greatest goalkeeps of all time.

I am a Spurs fan and I think that Cudicini needs to stay with us and pry for first-team football. Gomes is good (prehaps better) than Cudicini at the minute so he will just have to wait his turn and when it does come, not mess it up. He played one game for us so far, 3-1 win over Stoke City. Pre-Season may give him a chance.
