They almost succeded; the mob onboard the ship overwhelmed the Israeli commandos one by one as they were descending down from helicopters, armed only with paint guns. Israelis waited 30 minutes before using lethal force.
Don't tell me this was not planned. It was a cleverly prepared and calculated ambush at sea.
