Villa Lobos wrote a different study?

Well, actually sort of, yes. The 1928 Manuscript of the études that Villa Lobos wrote is different in many ways from the published version from the '50's. Check out David Leisner's recording, and accompanying essay, of the études. He got to see that manuscript and compare and contrast, He made a recording showing the diffferences.
