@M34nPuppyDog fx4 is barely an inch taller according to ford specs.. my 2011 FX4 ecoboost sits identical to a guy at works 2011 4X4 5.0L, the "FX6" is something one dealership does on its own, they take an FX4 and put a six inch lift kit on it along with some other stuff. The FX4 package has standard skid plates, rear locking diff, different shocks, LCD screen between the gages, and different availible options
Although there is a place in canada that upgrades suspension of ford trucks and they rename the trucks package based on the lift. Its called Blackstock Ford. They get brand new trucks from ford and customize them and sell them. So technically everyone is right on this one but stock trucks that come straight from ford do not have lift kits. Case closed!

I looked it up and Z-71 is the RPO (Regular Production Option) code for the silverado/sierra. like camaro had Z-28 and avalanches had Z-66. the numbers are what that RPO include. 71 is like off road tires and skid plates and im guessin 28 is performance packages

fx is the off road package the fx4 has a factory installed rancho 4" lift kit and the fx6 has the factory installed rancho 6" lift kit it has nothing to do with the drive

It has Rancho shocks, not a lift. the FX4 package on a Super Duty does the same thing as snow plow/camper package and bumps up the front spring rate one from what the computer selected spring rate is, along with the addition of Rancho shocks and factory skids.
@predracer04 the 4 stands for 4" lift and like this truck the 6 stands for 6" lift my truck has the 4" lift under from the factory i bought the truck new so i should know and that is why it is higher then one that says 4x4 on it they also have different gear ratios it has a 4"lift wether it is a rancho or not

Wow FX4= Front and rear locking diferentials, 4 wheel drive. Automatic locking differetials were added in around 2008 so the 4x4 logo was changed.
