Well, the little girl regenerating is Melody Pond, whom is Amy and Rory's daughter. They haven't really explained that part very well, however, River Song IS Melody Pond, she regenerates in "Let's Kill Hitler". I'm not quite sure how she has the Time Lord gene, but I think it has something to do with Amy and Rory being in the TARDIS for the first time on their wedding night. If you saw the shadows in the library one (David Tennant) , with the astronauts, River was among them...

Where were the Twin Towers? Under construction in 1969. Groundbreaking was in 1966, Tower one wasn't completed until '72 and tower two in '73. I actually assumed that River jumped out of one of the 'under construction' towers.

1) It wasn't 200 years in the future, it was in 1969 thats when they had the picnic at lake silencio and when the doctor 'died' at the start of the impossible astronaunt. In 1969 the silence WERE there.
2) When they went with the doctor to 1969 for his 'death' they never time travelld after that the rest of both episodes were in the same time period

But it was not in 1969... it was in 2011 (Amy's time). Rory and Amy received the invitation and came to the States to meet the Doctor. The old man who brought the gas was an aged version of Agent Canton Delaware (Mark Sheppard's character in 1969). So, the Silence does survive at 42 years but not necessarily 200.

As for Rory in Roman clothes, I heard the Cybermen are back this series, and the picture from episode 7 shows roman rory with a bunch of Cybermen. Sontarans are back aswell which means that perhaps we will see the alliance in TPO being formed.

A lot of people do not know but originally "The Doctor's Daughter" ended with Jenny's death. It was Moffat who went to RTD and suggested that she survive and live on after. Moffat doesn't leave loose ends..
Just watched Planet Of The Daleks and I must say that Moffat definatly loves the classics you can see a lot of his ideas in Classic Doctor Who. So expect things very similar to Tom Bakers first Season. Gothic, Unpredictable and Zany

Glad to see you back to your old self, doing reviews of current Dr Who! LOL! I thought bits of it were gleaned or influenced by the Virgin/BBC novels. Can't say which in particular. I'm not going to speculate on who anyone is or what any of it means. I do fear Moffatt is in danger of alienating the casual viewer.
I want to say the little girl is either the Rani(they brought back the Master they might as well bring back her), the Doctor's Daughter(which would make sense when the little girl knows that she's dying and knows that she'll change), or River Song( she did say that when she met the Doctor she does something really bad. Plus she know how to pilot the TARDIS which makes sense on that part) but yeah the writing WOW this season is going to be great
If River Song is The Doctors wife then would that not make The Doctors real surname Song because if it did then we would be half way there to knowing what his real name is.

Stephen Moffat is a genious. He took a big gamble with Series 5 and now it is paying off. All the little elements that made no sense in that series are now coming together. @lownlazy well in Tomb the Doctor explains Death to Victoria about missing his family. So maybe he was a Father and also references to him being a Father have been made in Tennants Era. Also if The Master got out then so could other timelords. The War Lord was meant to be destroyed. But so was The Master on many an occasion and he still got out. I think River Song is an agent possibly from the DNA Machine that made Jenny. She seems military trained and very similar to all the ones that came out of that machine. So to me she is more of an agent that became a companion of The Doctors. How does she know how to fly The Tardis??? Well she said she learned from the best but The Doctor was busy that day. SO could she have learned from a high up timelord??? Could she be an agent of Omega?

Hey, i think i no who the girl that regenerated is. When amy looked at the picture of her and a baby, its kind of obvious that its her daughter. But, because she regenerated, i think amy kept a secret from rory and the doctor that its hers and the doctors. So, the little girl is a time lord.
CGI was used a lot in RTDs era and in Star Trek Next Gen to patch up what was little more than a soap opera in space. RTD seemed to always have to go back to earth. Jon Pertwee once said the scariest Doctor Who was not in space but on earth, but it had to be done right. Well Moffat got it right. From the ghostly childrens home to the Silence themselves. All of them were very sinister. I found it a bit scary and I am 40 years of age
RTD was obviously winding down toward the end of the series. Series 4 was just bloated as all hell. From the title sequence to the finale. Steven Moffat has brought the show to levels Davies could only have dreamed about, and Matt Smith has far exceeded Tenant. But that's my opinion of course
@OpticalFunkllusions Matt Smith is THE DOCTOR. It was just epic the last episode. It was like a mini film. Moffat did not have to use loads of CGI and because of that the money was spent on what I have to say was a couple of episodes that will go down in Doctor Who History as classic DW of all time. Although who knows what Moffat has up his sleeve maybe even better. But it had me on the edge of my seat which has not happened for a long time!!!
And as for River Song only five weeks untill we find out who she really is in episode seven which will be the first of a two parter called A Good Man Goes To War and from what i have heard when they find out who she is it will effect Amy in ways that we can't imagine.
Anyway what do you think about the fact that River and the little girl were both at some point in New York in this episode seems like they may be trying to tell us something there and about Amy being pregnant and all yes The Doctor may or may not be the father but why feel the need to tell him first let's not forget that she is suppost to be keeping a big secret from him a secret that if he finds out what it is it will change there relationship forever.
My girlfriends daughter is only 6 and she understands more than you think. Most kids these days can pick up on elements of DW. They don;t have to get every technical detail. That is why its a FAMILY show and not just for adults or children
Well i mean what made me think that The Doctor could be the father was the fact that Amy was so desprate to tell him and not Rory but then again maybe The Slience have something to do with it as well like when they said to her you will tell The Doctor what he must know and what he must never know so what he must know is that she is pregnant and what he must never know is that the little girl might be his and her's unborn child what do you recken about that theory.
@neothe100 if Rory is a timelord that would explain him having the wrong name tag date on his Nurses Uniform in Eleventh Hour. Also if he is a Timelord then that would explain the little girl that can regenerate. I do not think it is Jenny because Jenny did not regenerate she only had one heart and she simply came back to life similar to Captain Jack. Nor is it River Song as she would have worked it out.

First of all, RTD was the man who brought DW back and amde it watchable and different. The show got to a point with Tennant that it became predictable and the stories were full of loopholes and red herrings. Moffett has brought an element to DW that hasn't been there before. Moffett is doing something very brave, and very very clever. I think it's going to be the BEST season we've ever seen and i reckon the little girl, is something ever so simple, we're all over thinking it :P
Either the girl is the doctor and emilia or the doctor and River's propbably most likely River's as she can work the tardis perhaps shes a timelord maybe it is her herself just regenerated. The doctor was shot by the girl/river. The silence have created an alternate universe for the doctor its a prison world where the lady eyepatch guards. River was the killer remeber. she did it out of spite and perhaps to tell herself and lead herself out of the event that is worse than her death.

@adhiluhur I think this is when you meet The War Lord from the War Games. It will probably be him before he was killed. Remember The Doctor can meet other timelords from the past. It is possible for him to meet The Master before he was even the same one that met Pertwee. All things are possible and there are no rules now. Therefore this could be pre war games episodes

Moffat actually uses the fact the Doctor has a time machine to his advantage to create stories that make the entire fandom theorise. A lot of people do not know but originally "The Doctor's Daughter" ended with Jenny's death. It was Moffat who went to RTD and suggested that she survive and live on after. Moffat doesn't leave loose ends..

I loved the fact the Spaceship the Silence used was the one the Doctor found in the Lodger.
My thoughts are, the Doctor said it was someone trying to recreate the Tardis.
My question is, how the HELL do the Silence build something that replicates a tardis (which blows up the other tardis in series 5).
I think the Silence are NOT the main foes, but they are pawns to a greater evil.
And I think only three beings could build a Tardis, Rani, the Master or...Omega.

Has anyone been saying the little Girl could be Susan, the Doctor's Grandaughter, last seen being left on Earth after the Dalek invasion was defeated? She did reapear in the Legacy of the Daleks book. Great book. We also found out how the Master became all burned and decayed in that one.

I want to say the little girl is either the Rani(they brought back the Master they might as well bring back her), the Doctor's Daughter(which would make sense when the little girl knows that she's dying and knows that she'll change), or River Song( she did say that when she met the Doctor she does something really bad. Stephen Moffat is a genious. He took a big gamble with Series 5 and now it is paying off. All the little elements that made no sense in that series are now coming together. River Song, Silence, Lodger all of them. Matt Smith took a while to get into the role, but I think he is far better than Tennant now. Some say he doesn't look handsome enough. Well I say to them that the show is about The Doctor not if he looks good on pin up posters of girl fans

Im thinking that the little girl is amy and the doctors or possibly amy and rorys (with some timelord influance with traveling in the TARDIS) and she ages like a human but regenerates like a timelord. @lownlazy well in Tomb the Doctor explains Death to Victoria about missing his family. So maybe he was a Father and also references to him being a Father have been made in Tennants Era. Also if The Master got out then so could other timelords. The War Lord was meant to be destroyed. But so was The Master on many an occasion and he still got out. Burned toa Crisp twice once in 5th Doctors Era and Once in Tennants

I think River Song is an agent possibly from the DNA Machine that made Jenny. She seems military trained and very similar to all the ones that came out of that machine. CGI was used a lot in RTDs era and in Star Trek Next Gen to patch up what was little more than a soap opera in space. RTD seemed to always have to go back to earth. Jon Pertwee once said the scariest Doctor Who was not in space but on earth, but it had to be done right. Well Moffat got it right. From the ghostly childrens home to the Silence themselves. All of them were very sinister. I found it a bit scary and I am 40 years of age

RTD was obviously winding down toward the end of the series. Series 4 was just bloated as all hell. From the title sequence to the finale. Steven Moffat has brought the show to levels Davies could only have dreamed about, and Matt Smith has far exceeded Tenant. But that's my opinion of course

Moffat did not have to use loads of CGI and because of that the money was spent on what I have to say was a couple of episodes that will go down in Doctor Who History as classic DW of all time. Although who knows what Moffat has up his sleeve maybe even better. But it had me on the edge of my seat which has not happened for a long time!!!

First of all, RTD was the man who brought DW back and amde it watchable and different. The show got to a point with Tennant that it became predictable and the stories were full of loopholes and red herrings. Moffett has brought an element to DW that hasn't been there before. Moffett is doing something very brave, and very very clever. I think it's going to be the BEST season we've ever seen and i reckon the little girl, is something ever so simple, we're all over thinking it :P

The doctor was shot by the girl/river. The silence have created an alternate universe for the doctor its a prison world where the lady eyepatch guards. Moffat actually uses the fact the Doctor has a time machine to his advantage to create stories that make the entire fandom theorise. No matter how fun, RTD's stories were, I never saw this happen on such a scale during his era.
