Hey, I had no idea you guys were using movie studio HD 10. Thats what I actually have haha, how did you get the muzzle flashes and effects to look so nice in it? Whenever I try to make those effects in it they always look so terrible haha.
@XWinterContingencyX Yeah, I know about that. Sadly I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 10 to do the effects. Hopefully I can save up enough to get After Effects soon. Thanks for the comment.
Awesome gun fight action scenes. Yes! >:D The close up fighting was especially cool. And you had a very nice selection of locations. The snowy place looked rather nice, and the inside was so nice and rather menacingly old and underused. Though, a little problem would be your bullet impact sounds are over used, playing all the time in a short few seconds. You should probably get some more, though editing the pitch could help, too. :)
@AnnoyingNoisesInc Thank you! I really thought that this location was one of the better ones I have filmed at. It was easy to get some cool looking camera angles. Agreed about the bullet impacts, I only have a few of them that I can layer. Thanks for the tip about altering the pitch!
@JessePitela Thank you very much. There are quite a few things I would like to work on, however I really need to get After Effects to do them. Glad you liked it!
Awesome job man! I like the intro a lot. Effects were great(not a big fan of the X muzzle flashes on pistols though its just my personal opinion haha). Keep it up.
@JBHMEDIA Thanks! The reason I used them, is because the Glock the officer used has a suppresser on it. I wanted to show a difference in the muzzle flashes, and I thought this was the best way to do it. Glad you liked it!
The Panasonic PVGS-400 did a pretty nice job! How was it shooting this short? I kinda miss my old minidv cam, I may need to bust it out and shoot some stuff, I like the look.
@Knoptop Thank you! It did well, having full manual control is a big plus, but having a higher resolution would help. (I am looking into a 60D.) I couldn't try some of the more cinematic camera movements since I also acted in this one. But I think it turned out pretty good.
The short film was awesome and very intense. Some advice I would give however is to cut down on the muzzle flashes. A simple smoke puff is usually enough. Muzzle flashes are usually rare on pistols such as those. Otherwise, I thought it was a very well put together film. Keep up the great work.
I love your camera movement in this! Great use of muzzle flare and blood effects, well edited too! Keen to watch more of your videos!

The video editing was great, very professional! But what did you really use for the "drugs"?
BrickCaptain 10 months ago
@BrickCaptain The "drugs" where actually pieces of plastic wrap with flour inside. I thought they where pretty real looking.
