I've boosted on max, everything... AA is only 4 I think and still rather sharp edges and the models seemed to be better in original (awesome) STALKER... will wait for some update or so...

what exactly is this blowout thing? i have never played a Stalker game before

its a random event that occurs every day in the zone, when u get the message about the emission you have to find a cover, a building preferably without any opened windows, and hide there until the blowout ends. The blowout takes a couple of minutes to reach it's maximum, and then if you're not in cover you take massive amounts of radiation and in the end you die.

It always surprises me when Russian words have the same sound as their English equivalent. Is Сталкер the standard word for STALKER? I'm still learning Russian, but from what I understand each word in STALKER has a meaning from the book SoC was based on, A Roadside Picnic.

I am supposing that you did - back in 71' the book Roadside Picknick was released, concerning the very factual basis of the STALKER universe, along with the terms, locations - and atmosphere. In 79' it was made into the film STALKER by revolutionary Russian Film-maker Andrei Tarkovsky - so yeah, great film great book!

Much of STALKER's universe was concieved within these two large - scale projects...
