  • the unedited version is better and you can really hear Giorgio Moroder's influence on this song

  • Innovative and interesting music. Irritating video.

  • did this do anything in the charts I cant remember this one?

  • he , s more like chalie fukin chaplin

  • i like Hitler's Son playing the keyboard

  • someone needs to get "The Scene" up here...dang it

  • The keyboard player is alike Charlie Garcia...

  • @jmgv75

Si buscás una foto de el con pelo largo va a ser más aparente el parecido.

  • this is really hot..

  • Ive got the coloured picture 12" inch of this. Great song!

  • I didn't realise this was the basis for Trisco's Muzak, one of my favourite dance tunes. These guys really were ahead of their time

  • Good disco !!

  • cool

  • OMG Russell looks so BRYAN FERRY here

  • seriously great

  • I have always felt the drum break in the middle was super energetic, so it is disappointing to see this guy playing it cool and under stated!

  • It is him but they are lip synching to the LP track being played, This is not a truly a "live" performance. Keith Forsey was the drummer, but did not appear in this video.

  • If I could be anyone in the god damned world, it would be Russel Mael pretending to be Bryan Ferry in a pink suit!

  • i just realized what this song was about :O

  • Russ looks like Bryan Ferry in that pink suit!

  • @JohnnyTheWolfLupino YES !!! YESSS YOU GOT IT LOL !!!

  • Win! I had this on 12" picture disc, c/w Peter Cook on the b-side!

  • my kids loved this when it first came out~great for dancing~peace

  • Didnt know hitler could play keyboards

  • @00twanga00 Originally he looked like Charlie Chaplin, curly hair and all.

Check out the photos on the first two albums.

Halfnelson (re-released as Sparks) and A Woofer In Tweeters Clothing.

  • Russ looks better with curls.

  • @rubinoos1 compared to later hair style this quite respectable.

  • Ron Mael is totally my inspiration for learning the keyboard, he rocks!!!

  • Ron Mael is totally my inspiration for learning the keyboard, he rocks!!!

  • I hate the chorus in the album version, this one is great.

Don't know why they left just backing singer in the album version

  • dance dance!!!!!!!! (^o^- )0))))

  • this version sounds better than the album cut

  • A song like this never gets old. Sparks never get old, not for me anyhow. Now, I really feel like dancing!

  • probably does but it suits me,

  • Irrefutable proof that Sparks invented Spunk Rock.

  • Giorgio Moroder.

  • love this 80s shit its class

  • yes they have been loved all over te worldGermny Swededn, even U>S>S.R. I'm so glad i found out more history on youtube.I hadnt heard anything since early 80's.Such a humorous band.I love them and glad to know they reached many!!!

  • do you think Daft Punk were influenced by Sparks in any way

  • just realised that the bass riff was used on a Trisco track called Muzick

  • Incredible music, can someone download the official music video on utube, I heard they transform themselves into werewolves in the video.

  • Utter brilliance! Where has this band been all my life? I was born in 80!

    Shit

    I missed the party!

  • Sparks own all today's fake bands and singers!!

  • Underated as everyone thought they were a novelty act, but utterly unheard of and totally incomprehensible to Americans (more their loss stuffing Burgers and listening to soft rock crap).

Their early stuff prefigures New Wave and they were the first "rock" act to really embrace synths.

They did influence a lot of British bands, but it goes unnoticed.

  • a HUGE influence on MORRISEY of the SMITHS

  • Sparks even make a biology lesson sound cool!

  • You just forget how good they actually were!!!

  • I used to have this on 12" picture vinyl with Patrick Moore doing a voice over... Sparks were always underrated in the UK

  • This sounds interesting, was Patrick Moore speaking the lyrics?

  • Not really, the track finished and then it went on with Patrick Moore waffling on for what seemed like ages. I suppose 12" is a lot of vinyl to fill :-)

  • why i love it? can you recomed some similar ?

  • This song is one of Sparks best. Despite it being said it was fast heading for the chart (that is the top 40), it only made No.45 in the UK. A great shame.

  • This was 1979, as you can see SPARKS were way ahead of anyone else in music.

    And still are today.

  • a quarter of a million strong?

    make that 6 billion

  • quality tune trisco style

  • coolest band ever.

  • great!

  • Too bad they didn't make a music video for this song...would have been interesting

  • They did! No one out there seems to have a copy though. Apparently it involves Ron and Russ turning into werewolves!

  • thumbs up pal ;-)

  • Brilliant. Sheer energy and campness. Perfect.

  • i agree wholeheartedly ... thumbs up ;-)

  • Just realized I WAS a sperm right when this came out lol ....wonder if my dad heard some Sparks

  • Russell is a fox. :)

  • This version's awesome. Hadn't heard it 'til now.

  • Should've been top 10!!

  • Anybody know what kind of synth that is Ron os playing?? I want one :)

  • The big one is a Yamaha CS80. They are very very rare and highly sought after for that sweeping sound. Aurturia do a CS80V softsynth. Can't make out the other cause of poor clarity. It does have Moog controller's on it though.

  • i believe the other synth is a minimoog, but with the control panel facing down.

  • love it 1979 all over totps was great then love the sparks was this the follow up to beat the clock.

  • @wokingfc2 Both were from Number 1 in Heaven

  • Great!

    Is that drumer Keith Forsey?

  • now you can see the answer on the video information :)

  • Thanks!!!

i liked the atmosphere of this clip.

all the cheap effects with the changing colors, etc :)
