  • We need to ask ourselves who exactly is running Corporations in America. The environment is dying. Guns and Nuclear weapons are being spread worldwide. GM needs to approach business from a real, simple approach. Small business. If they aren't making money, why does the Government want them to succeed. Is it because of jobs? Is it because of the "American" economy? Who is manufacturing guns?

  • can you revive another one for me please i'd love one :D

  • just drive the cars and be there with cameras if GM wants to make a case out of it. pushing and shaming the bastards is the only thing that works.

I'm betting GM doesn't want publicity a second time on this so just do it already

  • I'll never buy a GM, Opel, VauxHall, etc car again for what they did with the EVs.

  • Gov Motors screwed the americans from day one...they could build this today for a lot less money

  • GM could easily be selling these cars today with total satisfied customers driving and loving them. I wanted one just for driving to work and short trips. But no, GM and Chevron had to be fuckwads about the whole program. That damn Chevy Volt still has a gas engine, so I'm sure that will keep chevron oil very happy. GM didnt deserve a bailout either in my opinion. Bastards.

  • great comments everybody. Except of course that goof dougdangler

  • i myself am a rumbling V8 lover but i have a lot of respect for this neat little car. Wouldn't mind this as a commuter and save the Trans Am for the winding mountain roads. :D

  • How did you save this one? I thought all the EV-1s were leased

  • You sound like Jeff Bridges

  • Possession is nine tenths of the law.

You bought it fair and square didn't you?

Tell GM to go pound sand.

  • to all who haven't i urge you to watch "who killed the electric car". it sheds light on who is responsible for commiting this act of automobile genocide! i would have loved to have one of these.

  • Morons.

  • Beautiful car.

  • GM is dead. That company kaput. Do agreements with the "old" GM still apply?

  • they should drive it past the gm corporate offices

  • what is a BEV?

  • @5botball BEV stands for Battery Electric Vehicle, PHEV stands for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle. Hope that helps

  • what GM did is inexcusable and all car makers are that thoughtless but it's more disappointing that we haven't gotten together and created a replacement. with a bit of donation/investment from people like Hanks, Gibson, Sheen, Payne and similar semi wealthy people, some of them could swing 500k$, it adds up. put together a few willing technical people like Alan Cocconi and some talented car fabricators and it shouldn't be impossible to put together an EV1 like design and sell for 30k$

  • this is our corrupt system of politics. our politicians see these manipulations as do we. but it continues on a mass scale. have they the politicians been bought off 2 pass laws in oil co. favor?

  • I'd like to see an EV1 find it's way to another country. I think if legally registered abroad GM would have no power in preventing it's use on the road. It would be a great 2 fingers up @ them when it started to get publicity :-)

  • I think one of the reasons GM crushed all the cars was because of it's design. I saw "Who Killed The Electric Car" in class a week ago and I thought we were fucked by GM. But I think if they were able to make SUV's and those kinds of cars then GM probably wouldnt have ended the cars

  • Thats the reality the EV will be as it was when Henry Fords wife drove one. When the EV1 looked like a car you could buy and Toyota had an EV and Honda had an EV and Smart had an EV and now Mitsubishi has an EV. Think you can buy it now? Tomorrow? Next year? The Tesla?

ICE powered vehicles will still be build 20 years from now and beyond and let me tell you if I invested that much in a product Id keep building it.

    Convert ur car

    my website, google it.

  • The internal combustion engine (ICE) is a perfect money maker. It needs servicing. It breaks down and has to be either rebuilt or thrown away after a certain amount of time. Companies spend trillions of dollars on research into this item!

Im leaving petrol out of this for the moment cause its mealy a product. Ethanol can be grown and fuel an ICE, bio diesel can be made to fuel an ICE and hell in WW2 the Germans made fuel from coal.

  • bring it back

  • i would buy such a car in germany...

GM is sorry a fat dinosaur...and we all know dinos are going gone a be dead...

The Oil Lobby people are the real terrorists...like bush is and his nexts...EV is cool ...greetings to the people in the world who work for green statements...change come on obama...just words...just a puppet for the same people like bush`s shadows...i feel sad here in germany to see what polit...people do..rebith of EV_!

  • Astounding level of corruption and lack of concern for consumers by General Malfunction motors. GM will receive its own just reward by complete and total loss of business.

  • And people wonder why GM went bankrupt? They should driop the internal combustion engine completely and ONLY make electric cars. I am not a fan of the EV1,s styling but the technology was great. Come on GM get your head out of your ass and make an affordable electric car. the Chevy volt IS NOT that car. who can afford 40K? GM You could easily make an affordable $20 K priced car.. sheer volumn of production would bring the prices down.

  • Its up to our generation to kick the oil companies to the curb.

  • Fuck the oil companies and the politicians who killed it

  • now you know why g m went under and they don,t give a dam they just want your tax money and your money

  • What if they just took the guts out and put it all into a new electric car?

Leave the ev1 body for display and let GM suck it.

  • FUCK GM

    I love this car

  • the volt

  • where is the volt. Plus 40 miles on electric power come on. EV1 in 1999 got 120 miles.

  • so when was this filmed? and i mean r there still Ev1s that exist?

  • look at the gti in the back at 4:38 this vid is fairly new it looks old but the gti golf is in its 06 i believe idk the exact year but the golf helps!

  • I think you been in the Reactor Room too darn long. Weren't wearing your lead or even tinfoil hat.

  • @coalandnuclear All i have to say is FUCK YOU FAGGET you shouldnt have the right to vote PERIOD.

  • @coalandnuclear you are so stupid, Mind of a dumbass. can't understand how much volts the ev1 could run...

  • Hddrogen cars is a way for the oil companies to still remain profitable after the oil has gone. Electric cars were invented before the petrol cars, infact hdrogen cars were invented before the petrol engines came out.

  • A hydrogen car is a bomb on four wheels. Every scientist and well educated person knew that since the start. Obviously though here in America you aren't exposed to dangerous info like that in the news lol. all it was , was a deterrent for big oil and auto manufacturers corporate heads and ceos to look good for a while and to seem like they were the "good guys" trying to make it better... Classic marketing tactic. I mean, think about it. with all the fuken technology today do you really think...

  • ... It's that hard to get it right in so many years. I mean come on people. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. There're doing the exact same crap now!!!

  • I still dont buy how GM says 'there no demand' total lies by Rick Wagoner. Im glad Obama gave him the boot as CEO of GM.

  • mercy kill by wagner should of sold them all to radio shack

  • will they do the same thing to kill the hydrogen car if that actually works? Electric car is so much more practical then getting hydrogen, which is a light gas.

  • Yep, hydrogen is a nightmare, totally absurd having electric vehicles that are completle practical for the day to day use.

  • Screw GM! I won't forget what they did to the EV1. F*** them, I'll give my money to other automakers just because of this.

  • @Swanny0077 The big oil companys paid them to scrap the EV1, and the EV2, then we have to bail them out, G.M. is always been run by GREED, and assholes..

  • oh wow... Since GM is now destroyed, does that mean they can now drive the EV1?

  • I'd have like to have a drive in one of these out of curiosity, but I'm going against the grain here and saying I think its an ugly little thing and would have been at the bottom of my shopping list.

I'd rather have a European diesel, or a Honda Hydrogen car.

  • Ironically, the Honda FCX was made from returned HondaEV, at first. The appearance of a car is only a sales feature; there were other variants of the EV1 that looked different. However, many people, like those who wanted to buy, thought the EV1 looked cute and loveable.

  • Dont get me wrong, I see the appeal of an electric car and I understand that they WOULD fulfill the needs of a very large number or people. (every one would make a contribution against global warming) but its limitations would prevent ME from owning one, simply, the range specs. Looks are always a personal thing.

European diesels are available now doing 80+mpg imperial with amazing torque and power but they are not available in North America. WHY?? The FCX available now, only in CA WHY??

  • Man, one of the objectives of all this electric mess is not to depend on any fossil fuel!

  • its true what you say about electric cars, it will work on most of the world big cities, thats enough for me, but i dont think hydrogen is practical

  • Hydrogen: if you believe in this hoax, just ask yourself, "why not CNG?". CNG is cheap, plentiful, it's here, now, there's already a distribution system, any car or truck can be converted to CNG, it operates at a lower pressure than H2, you don't need a $300,000 fuel cell stack...and it's a clean fuel, you can get HOV stickers.

  • @liveoilfree

CNG & Hydrogen Is BS..there is no infrastructure nationwide and it would take allot more to setup than it would to add some charging ports at the gas station.

the EV1 used Nickle metal hydride and lead acid we now have Lithiom 3 battery types within that that are few times more power and less weight then the lead or nimih. Check out Telsa Motors Actual production car with 300 miles to charge at 3.9 0-60. Electric cars are the future.

  • i still love my 74 buick electras plewing smog in my babys face

  • now we're talking :)

    and I love my 72 Impala 350

  • @DEFIANT71DEFIANT The Tesla Roadster from teslamotors, com has a 300 miles range per charge... that's more than double the range than my ford focus can drive on a full tank!

  • @DEFIANT71DEFIANT You know it takes a lot of fossil fuel to get the hydrogen, ship it over seas, and then drive it to fueling stations. Or we could just get clean fuel from the wind/sun/geothermal and have it move by itself through wires underground or in the air to our home where we can refuel at home.

  • I want an EV1 soooo bad! It's killing me that I cant have one.

  • oh ya, and that guy sounds like Norm Macdonald

  • GM will find some way to sabatage this poor car. all they have ot do is put this car back in production. update the body styling..

  • she would forgive GM??? I hope GM burns for this.

  • They did

  • Oh no there's no interest in these cars said GM???

Yet look at all these people!!

Its like the Jimmy hendrix or john Lennon of cars now! LOL.

Gm can burn in... bankruptcy !!

  • SCREW GM no BAIL OUT MONEY UNLESS THEY BRING BACK THE EV1

  • good point ...if not...screw them

  • A-FUCKING-MEN brother

  • i couldnt agree more dude

  • @GuitarLover1OO1 I KNOW SO BRING SATURN BACK MAKE IT A BIT BETTER CALL IT THE EV2

  • I am paying for a 2006 toyota prius=50mpg.$27000. I like the car ,love the mileage. and have put 40,000 miles on it in 3 years with no problems.=800gal gas my old car is a ford taurus 20 mpg for same miles would have used 2000 gal gas. Thats how much oil and gas we could save. The payback in money was not worth the investment with $2.oo gal gas. And I hate that $550.00 month car payment x 60 mo. They will not sell many volts at $40,000.....

  • no more money for GM!! stop giving money to gm. what a great car, :).

  • The main part of this must have been the motor does anyone know if GM made the motor or are they still available so we could build our own EV using kit cars etc?

Also remember governments earn more in tax on fuel just for sitting on their arse than the oil companies do for drilling and refining it, Also global warming tax makes you pay even more when there isn't any proof.

  • There is 3rd party electric motor's!

  • Are they the same ones used in the EV1?

Think about this the war is for oil if we don't need the oil we don't need the war.

If you don't have the oil/ gas station then the Taxation system fall appart. The global warming scam also puts more TAX in the governments pockets.

  • love to see gas cars end up in museums and electric as part of every day life.

we are the dumbest intelligent species on the planet why are these not out all ready? what are gm afried of

  • GM are afraid, of the oil company's will make them go bank... Oh yes they already are!

  • I would drive one just to impress that last lady in the end of this video =)

  • heartbreaking to see an innovation that was stifled. If America does not innovate we have no hope for economic recovery.

vv-tec is a German company that has developed a small piston turbine that will allow a car to get 200 mpg. The most viable ev1 prototype had a williams turbine in the trunk. the only problem was the turbine cost $1 million. A 30KW Reinhardt Turbine would only cost $500. Please GM announce an EV1 relaunch for 2010 and set the price at $15k. Lead acid's will be fine!

  • You tell me if there is no demand for this car!!! Stupid GM , feel sorry for the hard working people loosing their jobs, but the company deserves to rot , and don't get a penny of taxpayer money so they can't keep building ugly , pollutant , gas guzzlers

  • Just let me take this baby to China.

I know a few places there where they can make perfect replicas of it.

And they can make the quantity we want!

  • Excatly, so they can shove it to their as*

    what they're producing now.

Those car manufacturing Car Companies in Detroit are waste and should not be helped by the goverment

so they could finally learn a leson.

  • Why hasn't another auto company come up with an entirely electric car?

  • All of the American car companies made one in the early 90's but, the oil companies had a very tight hold to the Car companies balls , and made them all kill their cars that ran electric.

"Who killed the Electric Car?" Is a highly recommended movie in my book. I wish everyone could see it.

    ~ <3

  • Check out "The Car That Could" before GM buys it all up and BURNS it!

Big 3 created a battery consortium....guess who footed the bill to find the best batteries?!?!

    TAXPAYERS!

So GM had NO right to sell NiMH to CHEVRON!

  • Yes I saw the film this week it's amazing this is why I am now looking on here at the EV1 videos.

Fuel TAX to the government is a big killer on this sort of stuff and it's made worse when you have Bush an oil man as a president! The worst thing America did was to vote in Bush it's time for a world revolution. 911 was for Caspian Sea oil nothing more than oil control.

  • Chevron owns patents to the batteries. This is fact. I just don't know if it is possible to build a different battery. Lobbyists, lawyers and money are fucking things up for what is right.

  • But when asked about the batteries, a voice off-camera (presumably, the driver) says: "They're the correct batteries. They're the Panasonic, self-regulating..."

And near the middle of the video, the camera gets a close-up of the battery compartment and it says "GM Power Electronics - System 110." Below that, it reads (from what I could make out): "Delco Propulsion Systems."

I think this whole GM debacle is karma kicking GM in the nuts!

  • The EV-1 was truly an American revolution... unlike these little crappy econoboxes GM is trying to pawn off as American cars...

  • why don't you take this to all the car shows including the detroit show as an independent

this should remind people how dumb GM is

    Garbage Management

  • i like the EV1 lady too lol! nice eyes and killer legs :)

  • GM is going to get a 13.6 billion bailout. I have a petition to put a

condition on it that they bring back the EV1, but I can't seem to put the link for it here.

  • good defiance against the evils of corporatism/capatilism

  • that lady is really pretty :)

  • THE VOLT IS FULLY ELECTRICT

  • The volt, if it were real, operates in all speed ranges fully under electric power, thanks to its proposed 120 kW 3-ph brushless motor. But it does have a gasoline genset, which we would, in fact, remove. So you're not far off!

  • it actully is fully electric

    i should know

    no offence on yor behalf

  • I can also assure you that the VOLT is NOT 100% electric - it has a 40 mile battery range and has a petrol (gas) engine that runs a generator to recharge the battery and run the motor. Read or ask a guy sellign the volt.. well theyre not selling it, but you know a car show.. or watch a video on your tube where the guys representing the cars will tell you.

Shall we say : its a fully electical car, but its not gas free.

  • Please read a news paper !!! The VOLT is nothing but another poor attemp for G.M. (Greedy Merchants ) to fool 85% of the population . The Volt is a HYBRID and only goes 60 miles on the batteries that they will put in the production Volt (If they ever produce it!) The CEO of G. M. said that the Volt will sell for more than $40,000 in 2010 . Read a paper instead of surfing the internet for your info

  • My Aunt works for GM

  • so she knows that G.M. Forced the leasers of the EV1 in 2003 to return the EV1 or have legal action against them Watch "Who Killed The Electric Cars" that is evidence what G.M. Did . The people who leased the EV1 wanted to buy them from G.M. and G.M. said NO

  • Yes she does and GM Regret it now. but there moving forward with the new Fully Electric Chevrolet Volt... GM at that time did not know our Global Climate not even the other Auto makers did not know either

  • GM should stand for Good-Ass Motor Shit. really, EV1 was good! D:

  • GM is still, as of Dec., 2008, suppressing the volunteer-restored EV1. It was heartbreaking for the volunteer engineers who donated their time and money.

  • AWESOME!

Burn in hell General Motors/Texaco, corporate scumbags!

  • Coooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If GM got wind of this they'll probably try and hunt it down with an army xD. Thats freaking awesome though, NICE!

  • What? GM wants a bail out? after what you've done.

the answer should be NO!!!!! HELL NO!!!!!!!!

    Karma can be a bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GM and the rest of the Big 3 do not need a bailout they need a swift kick in the ass. We as consumers and citizens should not allow the government to bailout the auto industry unless they agree to resume the production of electric cars. These companies willfully allowed Japanese auto makers to beat us in making fuel efficient cars. Its for this reason that I don't know anyone who wants to buy an American made car. If they go under so be it!

  • If GM fails, the facilities don't vanish... Someone smarter buys it up and puts people to work building a car that is in demand. Let GM fail, sell off it's property for cheap, and let's build a better American icon.

  • That was the car that would have saved GM. I hope they fail and disappear like the car we loved.

  • GM will never have my forgivness. if i were yall i would have driven the ev1 rite by the gm plant or watever u wanna call it and been like "wat, u want this car off the road well eff u. u gave it to me and im gonna drive cuz thats wat its soppossed to be used for!"

  • Is Donald Sutherland videotaping this?

  • EV 1 has 120 miles range the Volt has 40 miles range !??

  • Do us all a favor, stop spamming every single Volt-related video with your drivel. I hope the Volt is a smashing success, and I hope you have egg all over your face for your rants that are turning me off to your views.

  • GM is looking for taxpayers to bailout their stupidly run company but they have tried in every way to show how incompetent they really are.this Ev1 could have been a big boost for the company that is now going under.

  • If GM wants to be viable then why not build the EV 1 again? Offer the American people the technology that they need to survive in the price/profit economy in which we all have to live. GM's heads are SATANIC. GM deserves to be DEAD.

  • To this day, GM hasn't stopped LYING about the EV1! Even though Wagoner admits killing it was a big error!

Yes, GM is pathetic; but the line workers and dealers are paying the penalty for Wagoner's mistakes. He should be jailed, IMO, for destroying a great car -- and an American icon.

  • This rocks, love that folks are starting to stand-up and do things on their own, that't the only way things will change for the better. GM had the chance to make history and be well ahead of everybody but they shot themself's in the head this time. GM is finished.

  • Well, the benefit is that if GM wants a bailout they may have to stop acting like this. It isn't the government's business to tell them what to do but it becomes their business when they are paying for a bailout. I say not a cent for them unless they bring the EV1 program back.

  • I hope one of our Senator asks GM when they come back begging if they are stopping people from driving EV1's on the street...are they stopping people who restores Covairs ride on the street? This really pisses me off.

  • no BAILOUT/Taxpayers money for GM let them bastards die !

  • mabe if GM had kept this car instead of "hummer", they wouldn't be going down the tubes now while toyota laughs at us because they actually made a fuel efficient car.

  • Sickening stuff, GM had it all in their lap when it all started and MISSED IT, CEO should resign in shame and everyone should write for such.

oh and I hear that in a couple of years GM reports they will have the technology for an 'Electric Car' !!!!!!!!

  • Because they killed the EV1, I hope GM will go bankrupt!

  • Say no to the Auto industry bailout! Tell Barack and GM that they had their chance. Start writing letters!

  • Hopefully GM will go bankrupt soon and the blueprints for the EV-1 will become public property

  • the EV 1 was killed due to the oil companies putting too much pressure on GM and threatening them so GM collected "most" of them and destroyed them in a huge lot in the desert. yet were still tied to gasoline.

  • Except that GM was the most spectacular. They made the only REAL EV. IE not a gas car converted to electric but an EV through and through from blue print to show room to roadway. It was the first REAL production EV.

  • they didn't make the only electric vehicle. there was the th!nk, ev rav4, and the latest tesla motors which is really picking up momentum and they will actually continue without the corporate assholes who just want to make more money.

  • GM has now indicated that they will allow it to be freed. Call Dave Barthmuss, GM spokesperson, who stated he would try to free it so it can be driven.

  • I guess that was just another GM lie, it has not been freed and new threats seem to be issued. GM stock $5/share...and less, but GM still killing EV1.

  • I don't understand WHY you can't drive it? Who gives a shit about what GM thinks! Dodge Stopped making the Shadow, but I'm still driving it. How do they get away with Taking away your car, and then destroying it? If they tried taking my car, Id stay FUCK YOU and drive off. This is why I hate america. Well, At least Japan (The greatest country in the world) makes environmentally friendly cars like the Honda Insight, Toyota Prius, Honda Civic Hybrid, and the FCX Clarity.

  • They were donated in "gutted" condition to universities and museums under the condition that they NEVER be restored to running as an EV and never be allowed on city streets, according to reports. Hence, GM could confiscate and crush it.

  • toyota did the same thing. they had an ev rav4 but they took them back too. and don't you think if toyota wanted to make a completely environmentally friendly vehicle(like an electric vehicle) they would have made one by now. the resources are certainly at their disposal. look at tesla. they managed and they work out of a warehouse

  • correction: toyota did not take their electric vehicles back.

  • yes stewart you are right, but toyota didnt track down every single one of their RAV4 EV's to bring them to the crusher like GM did. There was just something sinister about the way that GM collected them to crush them. They had a lot of contempt towards us. Even today there is still a lot of raw anger towards GM.

  • Thats my EV1 :)

I get to see it every day :)

It is fully functional, but GM doesnt allow us to drive it. I have got to drive it a few feet to park it, but sadly it has to sit at our school every day.

  • Everyone balks at GM because they killed the EV1. What did Honda and Nissan do? They took them back and crushed them, even a few new ones. Toyota discontinued their EV program but sold a few of the RAV4 EVs to save face. GM and Ford actually sold S-10 and Ranger EVs, but nobody thanks them for that, only Toyota gets credit.

I'm as pissed as anyone at what GM did to the perfectly driveable EV1s, but they weren't the only ones that did such a thing. They just had the best car.

  • Yep, those GM exec's, a smart bunch of guy's. If you don't believe me, just ask them.

They are an excellent example of a company that exist for the sake of it's own greed, rather than one that thinks of its future and the future of it's country. Maybe those smart guys have learned something from this.

NAAAAAH! They should probably all be hanged for conspiracy.

  • I meant to say treason

  • Search on youtube for: "Saving General Motors - Volt"

Now it seems like GM HAS TO come out with a hybrid in order to save themselves from poor sales!!!

The funny thing is that probably other car makers will beat them and GM is gonna pay. Yes for making the best one and killing it, why not?

And one of the biggest enemies of the EV1: Chevron the first company in the world to make 1 billion dollars a day...They better start making batteries if they wanna keep those figures in the future...

  • GM sales aren't that far off other makers...it's just their profitability sucks.

appropriate music: the EV1 is a heartbreaker...great car that didn't make it.

whole lotta love for the EV1...they could produce it as is in 2012 and STILL have the most advanced car. period.

the fiero was modular, light weight and fun. it will accept modern engines and transmissions from late model cars. it was 20 years ahead of its time too.

  • Neither GM nor any other legacy auto manufacturer will build an EV. As for EVs, Legacy auto companies won't build them because EVs never need service. Look how big the service department is at every car dealer, and your out-of-wallet experience there. Much revenue at risk. They don't make money selling cars. They make money on service, like a printer company that makes money selling ink cartridges.

  • You are absolutely right! I've been saying that for years. Dealer service departments ream their customers by charging outrageous prices for parts and service! People need to wake up! I work on my own vehicles and save a ton of money. A brake job that would cost $400 at a dealer, only costs about $70 or so in parts. Auto shop should be a required course in school.

  • The last Rav4EV and EV1 used a NiMH battery that gave adequate range for most of us. Google "95 AH Large Format NiMH Battery" to see that Toyota and Panasonic were sued by chevron (patent holder) 30 million to shut down and dismantle their plant.

  • Makes me sick.

  • Where's the Una-Bomber when you really need one?

  • Beautiful in every aspect

  • Just what I was going to say.

  • When could we get this back on the road...

Think about it, if GM was not busy snorting cocain while getting a hummer from oil companies and Bush.... Boy thats a lot of anger.....

If gm had keep this car on the road today GMC would not have reported record losses today while Toyota and Honda has record profits.... Hmmmm why, what does Toyota have that would be the EnVy of GM?

And Honda has a hydro car... BUT as a leas only to souther Cali. Please Honda dont repeat gms f ups.

  • I will never, EVER, buy a vehicle from GM! GM bitched and complained about how much they lost with the EV-1 program, however, every single person who leased the car was willing to pay an exorbinant price to keep their vehicle; This would have covered most of the loss. Rather than doing so, GM had all the cars crushed, say a small few for museums. WTF!? HEY GM! Have fun in bankrupcy with Hummer! Helpful hint. Hummer Hybrid with possibly more than 8mpg. I'll stick with Japanese. They last longer.

  • i am offering $100,000 to any one person who is willing to take one of these cars for more details please reply this is not a joke i have wanted one of these scince i first heard about it in 2001 serious replplies plz

  • i have access to a disabled EV1. What kind of details would you like?

  • GM pretty much destroyed these; if you sell it to me, I'll get the motor-controller and other electronics (such as the braking systems) installed. But you have to sell it to me.

  • What shape is it in? I s just batteries needed or more than?

  • Ev1 is the one foundation that should be continued. In three years time, this car only needed a lube job. Used in the travel of home, work and shopping after work then plug in at home again. How much gas was used in three time from your car?

  • who would you like to pay for the batteries to continue the program?

  • They were just PSB EV-EC 1260 Lead-acid batteries, on which it went over 100 miles on a charge.

The 1999 came in two varieties, PSB and the PEVE NiMH, which had 140 miles EPA range.

  • Yes< I would!

  • ok then why don't you call GM and tell them you want to donate to the Volt program 30 grand per battery pack?

  • I hope g.m. goes down the drain, they should be tried for treason to our nation. We could have broke the back of those middle east oil mother fuckers. and Bush and Co. Instead we're losing our houses because of high gas prices. America needs to wake the fuck up.

  • For some reason you are only attacking GM while theyre developing an EV right now. What about Toyota for killing the rav4. How about everyone else who didnt even try?? Go and give michael moore a bj or something..

  • GM is just a (American)start!

  • ok so what does that mean? Who would it benefit if they went down the drain? You know they never even had to make the EV1 in the first place like the other guys, but they tried and took a loss on it. Now theyre trying again and you are calling them evil. Michael is not helping his beloved Flint, MI by spreading this bullshit to people who will believe anything.

  • Toyota had a Prius that got 120 miles to the gallon and Ford had an all electric you moron. Your arguements are ignorant like you punk. You are probably a GM lifer who's going down the tube with the company.

  • I deplore the story of Preston Tucker's car being muscled out of the market. It is difficult to believe that during the information age that we are in, that big powerful corporations or U.S government can stop private development of a highway legal golf car.

  • I golf a bit. Most golf carts are electric. What technology did the EV-1 have that can't be reproduced by proponents like this in the video? This video shows obvious demand for a similar product.
