Merv Griffin Enterprises must've taken a page or two from Fremantle Media's Playbook, by taking a perfectly fine thinking piece, and ruined it over the years.
They figure, if Fremantle can ruin The Price is Right, they can do it to Jeopardy!.
I really don't like that they slowed down the "tick-tock" block sound and took out the timpani at the end of the theme. Those were the essential trademarks of the theme (especially the timpani).
Request: not a video request but please change the title to make it say Jeopardy! Think Music 2008 because this version is the short-lived "leaky faucet" version. The 2008-present one is the piano-lead version introduced mid-October of that year.
I like the classic version better that was used on the original Art Fleming version and on the current version from 1984-1997. To my ears, that will always be THE Final Jeopardy! think music.
I agree that Jeopardy has lost somte of the trademarks that we have come to know and love. If Steve Kaplan was still alive we would have better think music today but he is no longer with us R.I.P.
At least we have the red background for final Jeopardy. I am very angry that they got rid of the board fill sound.
The Ringling Bros. And Barnum And Bailey Combined Circus Flat Car Was #75 And It Was Also Seen From That New Episode! What is The Legend Of Circus World?
These 2 Feshly Orange Painted Stock Car Are The Warren Type That Have 2 Two Digit Numbers Which Had Been Named After The Hagenbeck Wallace Circus And The James E. Strates Shows! What Are 49 And 44?
This new final jeopardy song is horrible! Seriously, how the hell can people think when this music is playing?! A deafening fire drill in school sounds better than this horrible music...
=No Board filling sound? Horrible Final Jeopardy Music?! Jeopardy has died. RIP Jeopardy 1984-2008=
I'm not sure if the piano was even present in this first variant. I'd venture to say that the instrument that carries the entire main melody was changed from the horns (as above) to the piano.

If you asked me, they never should have dropped the "Think!" theme from Art Fleming's Jeopardy. Was it any surprise it was the only thing untouched when this current Jeopardy premiered in 1984?
You people are a bun of whiny little pussies. I bet you people are the ones who started those shitty "Anti new Facebook" groups. Shit changes people. Suck it up
oh be quiet. nobody here is complaining about change, they are angry with mediocrity. when you add a new twist to an existing concept you're supposed to make it BETTER not worse. the themes previous to this one were creative and innovative and had EFFORT put into theme. this theme is just a generic, lazy, half ass effort.i swear these days people are just fine with being average instead of being the best. but i guess you're one of those people who thinks getting C's instead of A's is okay.
Yes, I do remember hearing this theme, on the 2nd episode of the 25 Season and I was discusted with it, along with many other things that were added and subtracted from the show.
I am disapointed with the new think music. I am really angry about the removal of the tympani, that was like a standard. This seems like something you would here on Nick Jr.
Hopefully they will can this like they did the early 1997 version.
You know... to be honest, I was getting tired of hearing the same think music day after day. I'm glad that the think music has evolved into something to my liking.
I liked the Think Music from 1997, but the new music is a MAJOR step down. The "tick tock" rhythm is half the time it normally is but what really aggravates me is they've removed the classic tympani beats at the end. It would have to take a lot of getting used to with this new music.
Yeah. It's doesn't suit the show. Final Jeopardy is supposed to be intense. This makes you feel like you have all the time in the world, like there's no need to hurry.
I would say "what were they thinking?", but I think a more appropriate question would be "WERE they thinking?".
If it was, it's extremely underwhelming. Truthfully speaking, none of the "Think!" themes since 1997 come close to the "Think!" theme from Art Fleming's Jeopardy.
This doesn't suit the mood of Final Jeopardy at all. Final Jeopardy is supposed to be intense, because you're really thinking on your feet, hoping to pull the right answer out of thin air. You don't get any of that with this theme. There's no urgency, no thinking "Boy, I really need to work fast".
@Premonition45 What I think should've happened was that the 2001 theme should've been remixed for the 25th season instead of the new theme and Think music; Sony should've given Chris Bell or some music composer/arranger the 2001 theme and remixed
