I love the tone quality, but the interpretation is definitely the strangest I have ever witnessed. He looks like a disk jockey singing Baroque melismas. I thought the last ornament was a bit much. Beautiful sound, though, in my opinion.
@IsraeliSinger I completely agree. Here I thought I could watch a real singer breathe while singing Comfort Ye...Instead...some guy aimlessly gesturing while sucking in his stomach.
@rverne8 ... I like the vocal performance a great deal (except the final ornamentation on Every valley... a little too much in my opinion). I actually kind of like the city scapes of the vid more than the guy in the desert.
@IsraeliSinger It is maybe beacause of Gota signer that in realy provocative way is out of tune with Handel. For instance when signing ewery valley, that should sound like jewry Wales, sign 'ewi'. Maybe it is just his 'scotish' accent ,maybe some defect of his throat? Maybe just both...
@IsraeliSinger The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness? That looks like wilderness. I'm not sure if that's what the maker was going for but it makes sense to me.
@IsraeliSinger This is not classical aria, this is Baroque Aria. n__n, and the scenes are some new concept, some people like it, some people don't but... for courtesy, and respect of the WONDERFUL job they did, and their effort, they don't speak but thanks, for devoting themselves to make this beautiful music.
@IsraeliSinger "the naked guy" it is the voice of the one calling in the dessert.. a passage in the bible, that's why they show the poor guy who is calling the prophecy of a better time to come.
Bel video; poi Ainsley è uno dei migliori tenori handeliani del presente e non solo.

Great interpretation! I like the detour from the usual rigid traditional concert.

wow- this is probably the best version to a classical aria,with the worst video ever attached to it!
no connection what so ever between the beautiful music and singing,and the images of vegas showing in there.
is that really John Mark Ainsley shirtless over there?!

@IsraeliSinger The shirtless man was such an oximoron to a classical aria. I have no idea why he did that. Cuz he thinks he's a fox?

@IsraeliSinger I guess if he was wearing boxers they could use it for a commercial on TV.

@IsraeliSinger Your comment reminded me of another phrase from the prophet Isaiah;
[Those] , who before were blind and deaf, shall now have the eyes and ears of their minds opened to see God's works

@IsraeliSinger Didn't you hear the singing guy? "Every valley shall be exalted", even Death Valley. Don't be so obtuse.
