you cant say he wasnt good enough if he only never had a decent chance to shine, whilst defensive/centre midfielders were kept in esteem over wingers and attacking mids, which although has paid off has been at the expense of some attacking flair

Useless at Liverpool. He's a less than average player, what's worse now, he's running his mouth off about Benitez saying he favoured other Liverpool players. If I was him, I would just focus on playing well on a regular basis and prove him wrong with your goals/assists.

pennant was very good, because he is a natural winger with pace, flair and technique who can cross the ball almost perfectly every time. Rafa did not give him an extended run, which he had done for Lucas which is starting to pay off, and now is doing for Babel and Bennayoun

Pennant is like what Riera is now, except faster and more skilled.

Sorry but no, Pennant played 80 timed for Liverpool and scored 3 goals, that's nowhere near good enough. Riise was too slow and couldn't defend towards the end at Liverpool, Kewell was too injury prone and had a bad attitude and Owen wanted to leave so that wasn't Benitez's fault. I defended Pennant a lot when he was at Liverpool but the fact is he wasn't good enough and now Kuyt is on the verge of equalling Rush's European goal tally for LFC, i think Rafa's been proven right.
