Went to last three World Championships as a spectator and was a national level competitor in the 80's and 90's. This original style of Ippon Kumite was much more explosive, amazing to watch Frank train and compete. He was and is the Man !!
Kizama zuki is so important. You will probably use it more than any other technique in a fight. I've found that it softens the guy up and sets up your other techniques. So does kizama geri. It is a good idea to practice these techniques constantly, and with power. Oss.
@WellDoneCroatia nowadays theres not much difference between WKF karate and Olimpic taekwondo, their combat techniques are just sportive and not very realistic, the sad part is that TKD is full contact / KO, while WKF is middle (soft?) contact no KO. Sad, very Sad.
There's another awesome clip on one of the Legend videos where Mr Brennan dives straight off the mark into a kizame tsuki and clocks the opponent before he moves. That definitely needs to go on here!
Presumably you're referring to the fight with very questionable refereeing.
Yeah, he's just been smacked in the mouth (after yame has been called, disgusting) and he unfurls a pre-emptive, fast kizame with perfect ma-ai, also with perfect control of technique. I know what you mean, i thought that technique was going to be the finale. Perhaps Legend Prod's are uptight about copyrighted stuff they 'own'.
look at the referee 0:42 :)

I just love these old 80's karate video clips. you could really whack the shit out of each other without getting disqualified like nowadays.
