actually with supras it makes it very streetable with the factory 6 speed. the turbo spools at probably 5000 rpms and revs to i know at least 9000. this leaves 4000 rpms to shift while ur in the power and with the ratios in the gearbox so close it doesnt fall out of the power. but on the street you can turn the boost down and shift conservitavely and it drives like a normal car. plus with proper tuning its not uncommon to see 25-30 mpg

With this power curve the power spikes, going straight up to peak power which will just kill the little bit of traction you'll have. It would be useless on the street. Take Ryan Woon's supra. On the street it spins through 4th gear at the top of each gear with no traction at all because its nothing then peak power right at the top, an yea.. a 90mm turbo would start spinning at 5k lol.

that flame is the anti-lag exhaust containing unburnt fuel from the chamber,,

maxboost depends on the size of the compressor, a small t-25 on a civic will spool faster than a fucking borg warner t-80 aka(birdshredder), the exaust coming out of the chamber takes time to build up enough kinetic to spin the exaust side of the turbo,, but i agree with fastspoolsupra, i think that the wastegate release causes the BANG and Flame to take place

Okay, read this before you post. It's a single 2jz, not twin. Why did it get loud and pop? The loud noise is the external wastegate opening regulating boost pressure (Measured in PSI or bar). The pop (Correct me if I'm wrong) Would be unburnt fuel in the exhaust, combusting. A few notes to take Spool time = how long a turbo takes to hit full boost What affects the "Spool time"? Fuel being burnt (a 3.0 will spool quicker than a 2.5) A/R And the turbo dynamics (Bearing vs. other) Ect......

"spooling" is the same thing as boost threashold. a turbo's lag is something complete diffrent if you want to get technical.

Lag is a measure of time it takes a turbo to respool once above the boost threashold. meaning if you are in the boost, let off the gas, and the turbo de-spools, and you stand back on the gas while still abouve threshold, that time to respool is lag.

Also The car did not break at all, it spun the tires. I know I was sitting in the hatch.
