It's like we know He died for us, but we just fly over that part of the Scripture way too fast for it to really sink in. He died for US for OUR sins. All the sins we committed have already been erased because of Him dying on the cross and overcoming the grave. Everytime I'm about to make a bad choice I keep reflecting back on this song now and imagining Him on the cross suffering because of me and it just breaks my heart. I almost started crying in church when I heard this song for the first time last Sunday. Just thinking about all the Lord has done for me when I am such a wretched and undeserving sinner is unbelievable. The line that really got me was, "Behold the man upon the cross, my sin upon His shoulders/Ashamed I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers." God loves all of his creation the same. Jesus came to save everyone from sin. No believer is guaranteed physical safety, only that when their time is come, they will live with God.

This is the line of logic: because man is inherently sinful we deserve punishment (hell), God chose to give us a way out of hell but because God is also Just he couldn't not punish anyone, so Jesus was punished in our place.

Lizazoon: God made the law and He didn't say "if someone sins lets find a "pleasant" way to deal with it. God is a just God, but we're not rewarded for sin. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us. He gave His life. I am eternally grateful for the sacrifice my Savior made for me and for you, if you will accept it.

lizazoon: Before Christ, there were animal sacrifices. To God, sin is an ugly thing. And it mustn't be dealt with in a "pleasant" manner. God is a loving, but just God.
If someone murders, they must pay for the crime. The law doesn't allow us to do something pleasant for him. There are consequences. Jesus paid for our consequences. Jesus loves you that much. And He wants a relationship with you, so that you can spend eternity in heaven with Him.

@lizazoon I'm guessing u are a perfect person without any sin, such that u dont need God's gift of salvation thru Christ & u feel that Jesus shouldnt have paid for us! Well, I cant fight u on that one but I can tell u that I will forever be grateful to the Lord for this gift of salvation & I know and trust that one day this salvation will get me to him in Heaven. I am not afraid of death anymore because for me to live is Christ and to die is gain (Philip. 1:21). Jesus loves u & is waiting for u.

Man had everything and chose to sin against God. God made a way to deliver us from that sin, and it's through a sacrifice. He loves us so much He sent his son to die, as the perfect sacrifice, for our sins. It is heart wrenching to see people make a mockery of that love. That mockery will not go unpunished. But, through repentance, and asking Jesus into your heart you can be forgiven. Therefore having the promise God made to all who believe and accept Jesus as Savior. Eternal life.

He didn't destroy it all! and he brought two of every animal so they could live! and we deserved it, and death is just one little thing, because when you die, you are judged... and if you were good and a Christian, you get a reward, and if not, you go to hell. You had your whole life to choose from right or wrong, and all the children go to heaven, because they were to young to understand, and the animals are just animals... so God good

However, you may want to verify your information first; the world was good until sin entered into it. The rainbow doesn't signify that God regretted the destruction; it's a symbol of the promise he made to never bring another global flood to the earth. You can read this for yourself in Genesis 9:11-17.

@AlbertHofmannJr Actually, the verse is "God so loved the world that He gave his only son so that who ever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life," not, "God so loved the world that he gave his only son so whoever believes in him will be forgiven."
This is the line of logic: because man is inherently sinful we deserve punishment (hell), God chose to give us a way out of hell but because God is also Just he couldn't not punish anyone, so Jesus was punished in our place.

This is the logic: because man is sinful we deserve punishment (hell); but God wants to save us from hell, however because He is also Just he couldn't not punish us; so Jesus was punished instead, with that brings forgiveness but that is not the sole purpose for Jesus' death.

Jesus came, died on the cross, if you accept Him as your Saviour you will be forgiven, do this instead of seeking every little hole in your fragmented view of Christianity.
