I think the video already stands out from the rest, because in the end, I showed that after all that...you can still boot into Windows and play a game too. I never intended for this to be another mine is better than yours video...it was supposed to show what the MBP was capable of...the OLD MacBook Pro.

If you never saw in the video, I was encoding a HD video (this video actually), inside FCP, so its not just a ram test, the processor was used completely also, yes, both the cores. Your memory does not have any processing feature, its just a really high speed instant storage system. If anything needs to be done with that data thats on memory, its done through your processor, which means even opening an application (that instant) uses your processor.

It's pretty stupid first of all trying to show off a performance of a machine using a screen recording app, because then you are not using the full potential of your system. Using a camera to record externally allows all your system resources to be used for whatever task at hand. You don't work normally on a computer with a screen recording app in the background do you? In which case why should you do that here...

Funny, because both Ubuntu and OS X run on UNIX...and Ubuntu is even WORSE at playing games than OS X is....so clearly your either delusional or don't know where the limits are for different OSes. I like Ubuntu...infact its my 2nd favorite, but 80% of the eye candy in Ubuntu...is utterly useless, and only distract you. And yes, I use Gutsy Gibbons as well on the side.

funny, because you use gaming abilities as a excuse for OSX. Think again, which one is better for gamin? A Mac that has maybe a 8600gt (if it has anything better it't propably not a consumer level product.) Or a dual boot gaming/multimedia PC with ubuntu and winXP?

Also, no one forces you to use eye candy. It's fucking lightning fast even when they're on though.

This was actually a pretty good video. I have to admit it. Think about it though your machine has 4 GB of RAM. You should be able to do way more than that. Watch my videos, the videos were recorded on a 512 MB of RAM machine. I even proved it in the video also. It wasn't a bad video though, I am actually gonna subscribe to your channel because your videos seem pretty good.

sweet vid, but I agree with bertrus23, I have the a new MBP, 2.4 IC2D, 4GB of crucial ram, I am running FCS2, Logic Studio, and Shake 4.1 and other stuff. I love my mac but it is not as fast as yours, any advice on why? It runs well, handles the workload fine but your speed is better.

Well, I disabled all startup items under Windows, so this speeds things up drastically during startup and shutdown...I only have the bare kernel level tasks running.

yep, but I must say its not wise to disable some of the things if you are using the Windows partition for major applications, like office, cad, etc...because that could potentially have a conflict. I only use Windows JUST for gaming...so thats why I disabled all the other garbage tasks that run in the background. The small memory footprints eventually do add up.

My MBP boots windows a lot slower (but still faster than most pc's, lol) than yours, but not that slow.
