Its super easy to remove the mag safety. Did it on mine in a matter of minutes.

They are both damn good guns and I own both. Its really what feels best in your hands and what fits your budget best.

I picked up that exact same model. I paid 529 @cabellas with 0 interest and no payments for a year. I will pay it off long before that this summer. Excellent shooter. Very acurate for me until I got tired lol. I have to build up muscle memory on my shooting form. Congrates on your purchase. I think its one of the better autos around these days

I did a head to head with my M&P 40 and my new G22 RTF. The G22 blew the M&P away so i traded it for a new Beretta PX4 40 Law Enforcement Edition. The Beretta in 40 is much nicer than the M&P in 40.

That's very interesting. I just got an M&P .40 for Christmas and mine actually has printed under the ejector port "CAUTION-CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED". Tried it with out the mag and sure enough, the firing pin goes off with no mag. Mine is a new Two Tone M&P 40 Kit with a flat earth frame and 3 15 round mags from Cabellas.

Nice gun I own one and love it, I was disappointed at price though because it is basically same weapon as sigma with a few new bells and whistles.

jesus, that is a very nice looking handgun. In Canada we need a special license for a handgun that I am working on. Once I get it, I'll probably pick up a beretta m9, however I would also consider getting this.

Just picked one up myself in .40 S&W. FYI, The S&W S.W.A.T. Edition assisted opening knife is an awesome knife to fit you S&W fix. Runs about $40.00 and is a really nice knife.

@philly442 Hello! Do you mean when the slide is back? It's a characteristic of many pistols for the barrel to be slightly risen when the slide is back. I don't know the specific name for the operation, but I believe they are made this way so that the receiver can better accept the incoming round from the magazine. Completely normal! Not a sign of a malfunction unless specified by the gun dealer. Have a great day!

I shot one of these today!! Love it!! Accurate and a smooth shooter. The balance is excellent and the recoil is not bad at all...this is on my list as my next gun. Ammo is $16.99 for 50 rounds Federal at Wally world.. S&W has created a masterpiece with this fine gun!!!

@SuperBlockster This firearm utilizes a tilting barrel design in which the barrel and slide are locked together at the moment of firing. It is not easily explained but works wonderful, do some research and you will learn more. I also own one of these pistols and recommend 100%.

Great vid on a terrific gun. Just put the same gun, brand new, on lawaway yesterday. picking it up in 2 more days. Originally planned on buying the mid-size m&p45, but saw the .40 and liked it better. Awesome gun and a great video detailing the firearm. Will watch for more from ya!!

@str8jacket3044 if your going for concealed i would recommend the compact version of this gun, any full sized gun for concealed carry is gonna be uncomfortable. but It's all in Preferance, thiers Glock People and S&W People. personally I think the M&P Is alot more nicer looking, Im A smith and wesson kinda of guy, But I have never owned a Glock or care to own 1. I have a friend who owned a g 23 and had problems with it jamming on him , ive had the m&p from 09 and never had a prob with it,

@kd2391 I just picked up my 2nd M&P today. (40 full size) Had a 9 compact for a few months, sweet shooting gun! Will be testing my new 40 tomorrow, I expect no problems! I hear you on the Glocks..........too plain, bad sights ect. XD's I think are better then Glocks (better sights).......but M&Ps are the best! I'll be buying a 40 compact as soon as I can find one lol. (I always go for the ambi-safety model.....they are harder to find in compacts)
