  • that is nice

  • hey i've been thinking about painting my plastics so i was looking for some pointers on doing it and i was wondering if you could help please

  • nice i just brought a kdx 175 to hon around in the bush with..they go well and dont feel as heavy as they are when your riding

  • dang thats a tight bike u wouldn even think its a 175 it looks so much like a 125

  • Sweet Bike, Gives me some ideas

  • I just got that same bike and my dad and i are fixing it up if u could give e any pointers taht would be great andwere did u get the kawasaki decals?

  • ***correction, my bikes are 1980s. Both new bottom+top ends. They run sweet and are for sale!

  • Great to see the KDX 175 restored. I had a KE175 (trail) in the 1980's and loved the KDX.175. Thanks for putting the video on Youtube.

  • That looks like a 1981 model, with the single spark arrestor to frame clamp. Check the VIN's tenth digit (year code) for the letter B, which means it is a 1981 model.

  • very nice dude, its a good lookin bike

  • i have an 83 kdx 250 and its an absolute rocket nice powerband great bottom to mid torque with a great top end. i kept mine kawasaki green and i love it. currently looking for a disc brake front end for it. 82 to 85 cr 250 fits. great vid and you should put a vid of it running or you riding it up.

  • I don't know if it is a 1982. I had a 1980. It had the muffler/spark arrestor with multiple diameters, and the short, motocross type rear fender. The later ones had a larger (and quieter)can-shaped muffler, a drooped rear fender, and a bulge in the fattest part of the expansion chamber, and a more substatial kick start lever. I think they also had grease fittings on the unitrack linkages.

Unitrack bearings, exhaust O-rings and warping reed valve housings were major maintenance hassles.

  • on all the bikes through 80-82 there were two versions made. one with white seat writing and a short rear fender, and one with green seat writing and an extended rear fender, used for a pack. I myself have one of each year '81 that i restored from the ground up. Sweet Bikes!

  • Damn! ! ! !

lol sweet bike man, looks effing amazing ! ! !

Cant beat a green *Kawi. for ever . .lol*

  • You couldn't find vintage plastics and seat cover? Looks good though.

  • i found plastics but no seat cover. I just repainted the plastics and the seat wasnt in bad shape at all, some tears but nuthing electrical tape can fix. thanks

  • what brand and type of paint? i need to do the same to my 175. Yours looks great!

  • I just bought a 82 KDX 175 and I`m in the process of restoring it. What year and make rear fender do you have on the bike, I`m trying to figger out what rear fender will fit because I don`t want the original rear fender as i`m not going to hook up the lights nor do I want them. Oh ya and front fender too assuming you don`t have the original front fender on you bike. Thank`s. BTW your bike looks great!

  • the fender it has is the one that came with the bike. idk what year fender it is. BTW, the first time i took the bike out, i blew a piston ring and found out that the bike needed brand new bottom and top end. including crank, bearings, etc. i figured i get something worth fixing like my 2001 rm 125! i had lots of fun working on this one, i learned alot about two strokes

  • now the bike looks awsome

  • Fun man ! I bouth a 90 % original for 200 euros 24 years ago. ( Lucky me :-) In the mean while I tracked the missing parts. After finishing the 250 '82KLX project ) approx 6 months to go ' i'll start with the 175 !

Take care of that bike, its very rare !

    Regards fom the Netherlands.

  • yeah the bike for me is done, i rode it a couple of times and it broke down on me. to my dismay many things inside the bike are toast: crank bearings connecting rod piston cylinder etc.

  • I rode an 1981 like this in the day. The best trail bike ever. No radiator. Way fast motor. Did fine about 10,000 feet. Even tagged it for holigan work. Keep up the good work. I have picture in aspens.

  • oh ya, well thats not so bad

  • awesome bike!Who's the music by on your video?

  • the songs name is reise riese by rammstein

  • ya how much did it cost you to restore it and what not

  • i want to say about 250 bucks, i really did not do anything with the motor mainly carb work and cosemetics

  • vary nice job! i gota 81.

  • good job (:

  • i have an 81 and i love it. what and how did you paint the plastics? i want to paint mine, but i've seen what happens when you paint plastic before. yours looks good.

  • hey how much did it weigh as a rolling frame?

  • omg probably 100+ lbs its still heavy even with out the motor

  • niiiiiice i might buy one for 400$

do you think its worth it? how much money did you put in it to make it go good and how do they go stock with that big hole in the exhaust, good compresion? comment me check out my vid dude

  • nice now lets hear it run

  • reise reise from rammstein

  • Whats the song name.

  • I like alot.

  • yeah, they only made kdx 175 's for 3 years and the last year they made them was 1982. and no that is not hte original color, i repainted it black to help cover scuffs and imperfections in the old plastic, but it looks good though

  • thats a awesome looking bike, i didnt know they made a kdx175, is that the original color?

  • that bike is awsome..... what kinda music is that .... are you from U.S.??
