  • they should make them with one white handle and one black handle

  • they need to make an endura with white handles and a black lock and a black clip and black blade

that would be cool as shit

  • Can someone please answer this question: I am planing on buying a knife for my husband for xmas and I was thinking to get this one but in the ZDP 189 steel. I know its supposed to be the best etc. however how worth it is it to spend like 150 bucks? Also what brand would people recommend? So confused! If someone could recommend something I would be grateful!

  • @kash734 ZDP-189 is a very hard steel, so it stays sharp longer. It is also more difficult to sharpen and more susceptible to rust. You can find ZDP-189 Enduras on eBay for less than $100.

You can't go wrong with a regular Spyderco Endura (VG-10 steel). If you want something more heavy duty for about the same price, check out the Cold Steel Recon 1 (clip point). Its lock is unbelievably strong.

  • question for you what would you rather use or have a endura or a delaca im really looking into one of them because i have a couple knives but i think i need a new one?

  • I watched this vid as my first cutlerylover vid about one year ago... a very expensive year due to all you excellent reviews

  • Spyderco ENDURA or Cold Steel Recon 1 Tanto?

  • @Elementpunx Ur gonna use it for edc tasks or self defence? If edc, go with the endura(its gonna be a nice self defence blade too) but only for defence take the recon 1 tanto.Bigger blade, tanto point, and more scary looking ^^

  • Beautiful blade. I'll bet that white FRN looks awesome with a denim background...Nice to see something that devates from "tactical black"...thumbs up dude...

  • Hey Jeff would you be willing to trade that?

    Let me know

  • it has an adjustable pivot screw, not pins correct?

  • I love mine. Traded a practically new SF G2L w/ the current SureFire upgraded LED bezel to get it. Previous owner had STR put a convex grind on it. Loved dealing with fellow members on EDCF. I know it'll eventually tarnish, being a white handle. But it's gorgeous. I got a great Spyderco Endura to add to my collection. And another one of the good guys ended up with a great light that he now uses as his main EDC flashlight.

  • Would this be a good first Spyderco knife (but the wave version)? I own a couple of Cold Steel, knives, and i'm used to the wave feature for deploying.

  • ahhh, yes getting my endura 4 in 3 days im glad i live in texas. (max blade length here is 5.5 inches!!!)

  • Great vid!! BTW I don't know what I should get, the delica 4 FFG or the endura 4 FFG.I have medium size hands and I'm worried that the endura is to big for me and that the delica is to small. I really like the flat ground blade. Cost isn't to much of an issue but size is, PLEASE HELP!!!

  • @SuperIffyjiffy i have the same prob but ill probably go with the endura id rather get a big one than a small one that doesnt satisfy me! im going for the green one!! : )

  • would you be enterested in selling this?

  • @gerberboy0100 Thanks for the advice, quite awhile ago, but I have sixty dollars now and I am going to get a green Endura 4 FFG. I'm way excited.

  • Man, I've been looking high and low for these for years, to no avail =[

I must say I'm very jealous, man lol. But I'm glad you were able to get your hands on one =]

    Dan.

  • @sherman614 Hey i just got on ebay right now and they have a Spyderco Endura 4 White Limited Edition Plain Edge for $40 and there is one bid and 4 days to go.

  • Really beautiful, but a nightmare for skying and trekking on snowed mountains, if it drops you'll never find it. I live at a chain of high mountains and I would put a red or blue lanyard on it

  • Are you a pothead? I ask because I smoke copious amounts of it and I don't trail off as much as you do. ;) I've been into knife collecting more in the last year and it doesn't seem like there has been any good sprint runs from Spyderco. It's funny you mention the looks of Spyderco because that was the only thing I had a problem withh. Wow, do they grow on you. They're now my favorite knife compay by a long shot and in a short amount of time.

  • I really want a Spyderco, but I could never afford one.

  • @TheDrumsist check out the Byrd knives they are really good value (the Cara Cara is the equivalent of this knife). Also if you have to have a Spyderco check out the persistence and tenacious. You could also check out ebay or used knives. If there is a will there is a way.

  • Great video, really classy knife bro!

  • you should review the SR Stainless Steel Columbia USA Saber knife

  • im not really a big fan of the hole in the spyderco knives. i dont own any and i kinda dont like the way the knife looks when closed, and i really dont like the way the blade looks when its opened. even if i dont like the knife would they be worth buying?

  • I was was going to buy one of these yesterday for an EDC but bought a 890 torrent instead.

  • I did that with my cold steel voyager med and cut myself

  • Jeff. I love your videos and have been watching them for more than a year. I just bought this knife and I like it very much. Thank you for mentioning the part about closing the knife one handed i found this very useful. Thanks for all the entertaining knife porn! lol Good Job man.

  • Cutlerylover,

I am looking for a very cheap, high quality, EDC knife. What would be a good option?

  • You got me wanting this knife the spyderco cricket that bobcat 22lr and got me collecting zippo. I love the videos especially the edc videos and made me think about mine but I have to wait a long time till I get that bobcat because I am only 13 : (

  • The knife is breathing until you touched it...

You knife killer! jk haha its just a video glare on the knife lol

  • Benchmade or spyderco?

  • Is aus 8 any good?

  • Hey cutlerylover,I know this is a very VERY old video, but you know the hate knife carriers get from ignorant people who think knives are for violent purposes,And right now I carry a case lockback and its not very "threatening" but i'm tired of it falling out of my pockets,in fact it had fallen into the street for 2 days during a massive rainstorm and I had to get the rust off of it :-( .So i want to get a delica,Do you think that people would find that knife threatening? PS: i'm 15 haha

  • @kingmanted a knife thats very unthreatening and made by spyderco and very nice is the spyderco dragonfly i prefer the one in g10 but its your choice between g10 frn or stainless

  • @kingmanted @kingmanted a knife thats very unthreatening and made by spyderco and very nice is the spyderco dragonfly i prefer the one in g10 but its your choice between g10 frn or stainless

  • @kingmanted an Endura is a little big if your going to be flipping it out in public all the time but if your normally keeping it in your pocket an Endura is fine. (I'm 15 and am considering getting this for EDC also) just don't let others opinions keep you from carrying.

  • i did the way you close where it hits ur finger and i got cut pretty deep

  • Best, most intelligent review of this model on Youtube... THANK YOU!

  • which is better the delica or the endura?

    reply anyone...

  • OWNmeansPWN....the only difference is that the Endura is bigger than the Delica. It's kind of the Delica's "big brother".

  • if i had enough money i would so try and collect all the number 69 sprint runs :P

  • i just ordered a black frn plain edge endura few minutes ago

  • man im thinking about getting the wite version, but the black is really cool too :-S

    ; -)

  • Comment removed

  • Man that just looks so cool! I love any spyderco knife (Even more) when it's in white.

  • the number is the collectors club. your number is 102. so of the white endura 4's yours is the 102nd one made. the V stands for variation. for example if that was a normal endura 4 it would just be #102. but since that is a variation it has the V. the collectors club consists of 200 slots. when you are a member you get the same number of every model and every variation. you see these come up on the secondary market once in awhile. like my paramilitary is 164V. great knife btw.

  • i want one of these for christmas so bad lol

  • the blade is to heavy it should be like the military blade.the handles and blade steel are really great though.

  • Te blade on the military would make it heavier, there is less steel taken off.

  • You should check out the Lone Wolf version, Same thing as the endura but with a Glock disassemble tool built in on the spine. Really awesome.

  • just got it today and love it so far thanks for the review it help me make the decision.

  • Just bought the last one from new graham hope i like the knife as much as everyone else.

  • just got one, hope my jeans wont rub off on them; i wouldnt want the handles to turn blue!

  • your comment made me laugh because my jeans turn all of my shoes blue and it's really weird because I suppose I've always felt that jeans were naturally blue, but of course they're not, duh :)

  • i've had one for about a couple months know, going on a year, and be careful, cause it will turn blue. nothing too bad, slight tint of blue, but blue nonetheless

  • gahh! i guess i'll just carry this one in my other pants then :] thanks for the heads up!

  • @shummyshum - From what I understand, you can take the knife apart (Which reportedly is a minor hassle) and clean the handles with water and soap, and return it to its original bright white, then put it back together.

I have a white delica 4, and I hope mine doesn't get stained either. But... even though it sounds like a pain to disassemble/reassemble the knife, its good to know we can do something about it.

  • I have a vid on issues i had while putting my endura 4 back together....just a couple of tips to make things easier....

  • I am really digging the white FRN handles. They look really classy and would be great for taking knife pictures with other things such as lights, guns, outdoors and such. I have one queestion, dont you think the white handles would get dirty after continual use?

  • i found a good deal on this knife and then remembered you had a reveiw of it!! i am considering it but i have not desided yet

  • Love Spyderco but think the Endura is a ugly design i'd go with the white frn Dragonfly over it.

  • i bought the pink version. the guy who sharpened it in the factory did a somewhat sloppy job! i love endura's!

  • i'm buying a plain endura and a cara cara. good choices?

  • ok thanks

  • which steel is better AUS 6 or VG 10?

  • VG10 for sure no contest

  • @cutlerylover Do you prefer VG-10 or 154CM for edge retention and overall qualities?

  • Nice ! Got these for 50 bucks over at knifeworks, gonna pick one up!

  • i have a SWAT S&W and Extreme OPs S&W both thumb stud, but i can deploy them pretty fast...just gotta flick ur wrist and its like a switch blade or assisted knife...

  • finger print maniac !!! lol

    i love your vids

  • Buy nothing until you look at SOG Trident. I sell at a retail store and its the fav of everyone who works there. Deploys REAL fast.

  • do u recomend the thumb hole than the thumb stud?

  • chain letter bastard

  • will i die?

  • i have the black one :)

  • classy knife bro, what do you think about it beeing an edc? lookin for a newer knife my kershaw is worn out spyderso been catching my eye latley this or the tenacious

  • good thing ur in PA too, wawa, tastykake, and ritas r the shit

  • You're an asshole because he made a mistake and has to hide himself from being ashamed.

  • no i dont care not your conversation

  • wow really its 30 dollars and has 8cr13mov steel this has vg10 blade and its quality is better do you know anything about spyderco knives

  • i bought this knife and i called new graham and they said its not a limited edition

  • i got the delica 4 model, i love, but id rather it be full plan edge and it is hard to keep clean (shows dirt pretty good lol) Thinking about buying the trainer model just for the red handle scales ;p

  • The sprint run is usually around 1200 pieces. The first 200 made will have a a collector's # on them followed by a "v" which means variant. These are usually reserved for Spyderco collector club members, but many retailers have memberships, so they show up all the time.

  • Comment removed

  • I love the color of white and ivory one the scales for knives. Good lookin' knife!

  • i checked out new graham and they had 1 left so i bought it, got it the other day and there is no # on the blade. Do they stop numbering them after a certain # or did they decide to keep manufacturing it?

  • Dont just say you hate them, at least give a valid reason for your dislike.

  • to be honest, i don't really "hate" them. i mean they have created one of the best and easy to use sharpening systems out there. i just really don't like their knife designs. and i don't think i get a good value for their expensive price, not to say the benchmades aren't expensive, 'cause they are. very. i hope i didn't offend you in any way giving my opinion on spyderco. basically, i just don't like their designs, and i don't like their standard lockback.

  • ANYONE:::

Would you rather have a tenacious or a cara-cara?

  • oh is the spyderco logo engraved or is it simply stamped on ?cuz i work with paint finer i dont want it to blure off.

  • he actually talks about the lockback, as 6:12

  • I dissagree he says his opinion on the knife at 0:18.

  • yes that white handle spyderco is cool

  • newgram or newgrand?

  • newgraham

  • i really like the white frn

  • Idk if this has been said but Spyderco has a sprint run of this exact knife. white and everything for 84 bucks.

  • is this a old knife i thought i saw the same one on a tales from the crypt episode from the earlie 90s

  • Thye design is old yeah, back in the 90s Spyderco still had the endura, looked basically the same as an overall design, so its possible...

  • does the endura have a pivot scew

  • love that color, but I'm looking at the Delica 4, any one know if its available in plain edge?

  • In the white scales? I don't think so, atleast it isn't on NGK's website. They did the white scales on a few knives and I'm actually curious why they chose the styles for the knives they did.

  • unforunately not :\

i've been looking for one, too, but no luck.

    c'mon, spyderco!

i got this endura btw. love it. thanks jeff!

  • yes

  • getting one of these for christmas, I love the white scales

  • its nto a riveted pivot is it

  • No, you can adjust it.

  • can u do a cuting test on that

  • really nice knife man.

  • will u trade that knife

  • All of my knives are fior sale or trade for the right price, lol...In other words probably not, but it depends what your offering...

  • will u trade that

  • what knives do you use around your house?

  • awesome review man! you convinced me to get this knife. there were 2 left! well, it'll be here on thursday! i'll give you my review when i get it!

  • sweet! congratulatiosn on your new purchase, you will like this one!

  • thanks! im really looking forward to getting it:)

  • Are you going to do a review on your Spyderco Dodo?

  • Yes actually Im trying to upload it today, 9/10...

  • lookes awesome in white. in california i don't think theres restrictions on folders, i've been carrying around a four inch blade.

  • Great review thank you enjoyed it very much.

  • Tom Krein did a flat grind on one I had with ZDP steel. It cut real well, but I was a little disappointed with the steel; it would chip really easily. I think Enduras are great beaters and the only improvement they could have is a better steel and a flat grind.

  • ZDP 189 is an excellent steel however its is super hard, its GREAT for certain tasks, but not others, its sort of a speicialty steel, not good with cuttign hard materials like aluminum or hard plastics...but for paper or cardboard or soft plasctic its great! But there are other steels more suited for general tasks...a bit softer than ZDP189 but still has good edge retention like 154CM for example...or the VG-10 enduras...

  • The delica and endura look identical to me. I'm not really familiar with Spyderco. Can you explain the difference?

  • Yes it IS the same design, the onyl difference is size, the delica is a smaller version of the ednura...

  • great vid. when straight out of the package, where is the pocketclip mounted?

  • Just like you see it here, I have not touched the pocket clip since I got it...

  • ok thanks :)

  • the paramilitary military and tenacious are AESOME!

  • Yes they are! Spyderco has alot of great knives, I dont think I ever saw a spydy I didnt mind owning...either for use or collecting...

  • ive been droolin over the tenacious for a while cause of the price alone

  • Yeah...

  • i love my endura4 it is an awesome knife

  • i had one of the old spyderco models wen i was like 12 and i ended up droping it to the bottom of a lake i would love to have a nother one

  • There are plenty of these Endura 4s out therd for sale in all kinds of variations...And not too expensive either...

  • my spyderco came today! its a cool knife, but its kinda stiff. i tried spraying wd40 on its joints, but it didnt do anything. do i have to loosen the screw on the knife? what kind of screwdriver should i use?

  • I believe the ednura and delica 4's have a torx screw for the pivot screw, you cna get the torx set for under $10 at a hardware store...

  • what size should i get for the tip in millimeters?

  • I dont know for milimeters the toex bits have sizes like T1 to a T12 I think and up but sa regular set of torx bits woudl be fine...

  • hey, can u use this knife on heavy duty tasks or wittling?

  • Yes this can be heavily used for sure, as for whittleing, I prefer a whittler slipjoint just because of the specific style blades it has but yeah if you wanted you cna whittle with this...

  • Ooooo, I like I like.

  • WOOO HOOO!!!!!! IT CAME!!!!!!!! Its such an awsome knife im so glad i decided to get it! and i wouldnt have if it wasnt for u! thanks so much dude!

  • I HATE WAITING!!!!!! Haha its killing me! I go out every day when the mail come n like run to the mailbox and its not there...=( Im hoping it comes tomorrow. Iv watched this video so many times, i love it and cant wait to get mine

  • haha I know how u feel...

  • hey, im ordering the serrated foliage colored one tomorrow. cant wait 4 it 2 come! great review!

  • Thanks, your going to be very happy with it!

  • hey, im also thinking of getting the fixed blade kabar tanto. is that a good knife too?

  • Alot of people tend to like Kabar fixed blades, they are not my thgin but that doesn't mean they are not good...If you like the design it will be good for you, price is not too bad at all...

  • Spyderco is my fave. brand, Endura is one of my fave. models from them. And I dislike the waved version, since I've shown many ways to get around that ;)

    5 STARS!

  • Yes you have, haha, thanks!

  • i love it. [:

  • Good review man. Keep 'em coming.

  • Thanks!

  • no prob great knife in general have fun with it =)

  • beautiful knife. I want one. Another great review!

  • Thanks!

  • Great vid! I really like the white handles, I think I'm gonna try to get a white Delica soon, idk. I just bought a Spyderco Cricket and a Spyderco Spin at a gun show yesterday though. ^^

Oh, and the main reason for the dent in the lockback was to help keep it from unlocking when you're gripping the knife really tight. But it definitely makes it more comfortable too!

  • interesting, that makes sense as well...

  • Awesome knife man.. Hey can you tell me why some of the "sprint runs" don't have a number on the blade followed by a "v" like yours does? If it doesn't have a number is it really a "sprint run"? Thanks for the videos I'm new to them and really enjoy them!

  • Actually a person named amen1974 commented here with some GREAT info on that, I learned somethgin new from him!!! Please read his comments here for this video, both are not only corrcting what I said, but VERY informative!!!! I appreciate him responding!

  • cool knife

  • in UK 3" or less, but the knife can not lock :(

  • bummer, at least there are ALOT of slipjoiunts you cna choose from..but still thats a BIG limitation in my opinion...

  • recommendation on good slipjoints? i know spyderco has made a knife designed to comply with the stupid UK knife laws, but its a little expensive for a non lock 3" blade.

we can have larger, locking knife but you cant carry them, making them a little useless

  • Lets see well naythgin made by CASE cutlery is good they have ALOT of great models to choose from, but the top pof the line slippies are going to coem from both Quen cutlery (many of their mdoels have D2 blades) and Schatt and Morgan...

  • love the white handled spydeys, if you get it out to use your bound to get asked about it right haha.. another great vid jeff.

  • haha yeah, you know I get excited when I see a stranger with a pocket clip on their pants, ahha, I always think to myself I bet I have talked to them online before, lol...

  • shark**

  • the blade reminds me of a sharp idk y tho
