I am so happy they aren't playing metagame decks. It's so fun to see decks playing against each other that aren't part of the metagame. I'm really enjoying this. I would love to see you playtest rogue decks sometimes. I think it's one of the best ways to improve your game, too.

Shuffling and spreading basics like that is against the rules.

@HypnosProjectHQ Actually, its not. The rule is that if you search your deck and decide to rearrange some things, its perfectly legal as long as you shuffle well afterwards. Since the game hadn't started yet, there wasn't anything wrong with him checking his deck and moving things around before reshuffling. If he shuffled well, those cards wouldn't be anywhere near where he put them.

@inatspong Yeah, it is against the rules. I'm a head judge, and I just consulted with a local PTO and his professor son again today about it. Doing that is considered searching the deck, and you cannot search the deck when shuffling. None of the cards in the deck are to be revealed to yourself or to your opponent when shuffling. It actually can result in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, and the only penalty suggested for this action is a game loss.
