Im new to all this mod stuff and Half life. I installed steam and installed half life 2 how do i put the mods in or is Gmod not able to work with it?

First, it requires a source game, ie Half life 2 (not 1).

Install Gmod, update it, go to facepunch forums and search for Stargate thread then read through instructions for installing.

The most reliable method is to use TortoiseSVN, which is described in the main SG thread on FP.

I have been trying to get the stargate addons to work. I just dont know what to do, like there are a bunch of iris stuff for it and sound apps and i dont know how to get it all to work. I dl one and go in and it is either not there or i can spawn a gate but it doesnt do anything, just lays there. i didnt know if there are certain ones you have to dl or what.

Ask on the Gmod forums, if you looked there than you'd know... the Stargate mod and the PHX mod uses SVN now.. I am not familair with it anymore since i no longer play Garrys Mod (for this reason)

You know how when you activate the stargate,and you get that blue horizon?

When I activate mine,the horizon only shows when that blue plume comes out of the stargate,then it just turns black.

How can I fix it.

You need something like TutoriseSVN or something like that to use it since there are constant Stargate Updates..

I have a problem with this addon. If I save a game with stargates that I spawned, quit the game, restart it, and load that save again, it doesn't work. These messages come up:

And there's also this message:

fyi i have seen all stargate episodes from sg1 to atlantis and i compleated almost all the achivements in portal i was just making a joke to the act of bringing stargate and the source engine together is like portal

but the aperture science portal gun (with possible applications as a shower curtain lol) just isn't as awesome as the stargates. Dialing in a stargate on a DHD is just so much cooler than shooting portals at walls.

What Google Chrome sucks ass. FireFox is better than that.. "oo, it doesnt take up as much resource" well it does as one whole program on my computer. May-b not if its running a small amount of tabs, but if i have alot (which i usually do) than it eats em up. FireFox has a steady, one Chrome has a different one. Plus Google knowing what i search through their browser.. FUCK THAT!

sorry to resurrect a post a month old but...the Atlantis gates look relatively "scale" in size but the earth gates seem way too small...but i love that there is a difference in the color of the chevrons and the actual skins. also, (sorry for dragging on) why are the DHD's for the Atlantis gate in the style of the Goa'uld

The gates in this video was pre-Orange Box.

The new update that some say is gMod 12 or 13 is totally different. The gates are different as well. I'd say try to re-install the gate mod.

if anything we were just fooling around. We, me and ice, used to make bases in this map. We've worked on a larger one that almost took the whole map up, 1 floor. To get in, you needed to dial the stargate it was awesome. But if we ever try again, then i will deff save or do a adv. duplicator.

Just use the stacker STool and change the settings on it to make it go in two directions. Then just use material STool and use tank glass to get orange see-through steps. You can find the stacker STool at garrysmod[dot]org.

i dont know what STOOL Is, just spawn the stargate, right click Put the gate name first than dail another gate... DHD just works with any Stargate that its close to.
