the new collective bargaining agreement states that a player cannot earn more than 20% of the team's total payroll. the real worries for the pens to re-sign all of those players won't come for a good seven or so years when they all become unrestricted free agents. thank god for the salary cap and the bonehead politicians that waited so long to get a new arena or the pens would be opening the 2007-08 season in kansas city or hamilton, ontario
