  • Whoops! My mistake. I hadn't realised that CDL was new to Shotters, was a WTB, and had never been anywhere near SVOC! On startup that still sounds like a Perkins diesel though?

  • She doesn't have a Perkins...she has her original Bedford engine.

  • What made me think so was the roar on start up, which sounded much more akin to a small diesel than a petrol engine. Wrong again!

  • I know that SVOC along with some other BTC companies operating Bedford OB's re-engined them with Perkins P6 diesels (West Yorkshire comes to mind). As such they had an extended life over the Bedford petrol versions. Sounds like CDL 792 still has her Perkins diesel fitted? The lovely OB transmission notes are still very much present. A preserved West Yorks example has been returned to petrol, a pity really when it's the Perkins diesel versions which are now so rare.

  • Nice video Jack, she sounds great too.

  • Apart from the squeaky fan belt! We need to attend to that.
