What stance is it on the first move. I'm unfamiliar with this kata, but I'd have thought Hangetsu dachi, fudo dachi or possibly zenkutsu dachi. Any help?

It is Sochin-dachi.

@Horseinacorset Most of the stances in this Kata are Fudo-dachi, which is basically the same as Sochin-dachi. There is some Kokutsu-dachi (backstance) on those six knife hand blocks that all all one after another, but mostly Fudo/Sochin-dachi.

Sometimes it can be hard to tell from it video, but there is no Zenkutsu-dachi (front stance) in this kata at all.
