I remember my grandmother now passed since August of 2003 every time I hear this song. She walked with God all of her life and gave and gave and never asked for anything in return. I miss her everyday but I can see what was sang in this song happening to her. I cry with sadness that she isn't here because I miss her everyday, but I am glad at the same time because she was in so much pain from the cancer there at the end.
I cry everytime i hear this song, especially when my brother sings it to us. My life has been changed because of my Mom taking us to church and bringing us to the Lord. Thank you Mom!
Also one of my favorite ones Bill. This and "Faces" have helped me when I was too tired to go to Sunday School or church. Or was too busy to talk to someone who I later found was under conviction, but I put off what I had planned. That "still small voice" calling? I believe so.
WOW!I don't know anyone that sings like Ivan, this is just one more example of his incredible talent, and what a beautiful song! You never know when you are touching a life with the simplest of actions!
You know, sometimes, perhaps most times, when we're teaching, helping and praying, we just do it because there is a need and we do it. Perhaps there are angels and our precious Saviour looking down. Knowing we're tired. Knowing some just don't understand: but we give it to the Lord and go on.
No one could introduce this song any better than Bill Gaither did; and no one could sing this song with such passion and spirit than Ivan Parker. How Ivan could sing with such clarity and without breaking up himself after such an intro is amazing. What a blessing to listen to this while reading all of your comments who have been touched by the hand of the Lord..........Praise Him Holy Name.
Hadn't seen the end until I had posted 1st comment. Sorry. Just wanted to add : WHAT A TRIBUTE!!to those already in Heaven. Jake, Anthony, Vestel & Howard, Glen, George and All the rest, are NOW experiencing the rewards of inspiring others. How wonderful is our Father in Heaven to allow us to even enter His presence, much less reward us, so richly for ANYTHING that we can possibly do. Yet, He promises He will. Thinking this deep, leaves me speechless. Thank you, Ivan. God Bless
WOW!!!!! This one brought tears, as I listen and give thanks. What a heavenly thought: to find out one day that we have touched anyone like this. Great job, Ivan. I'm sure you'll be one of these, that have touched and influnced many!!God Bless
I just lost my dad I know God took him for a reason he had a prayer list 5 pages long. And he gave so much this Christmas will be so hard with out him but this songs help me cope. I know he is spending the rest his first Christmas with Jesus what a wonderful thought to know Praise GOD
This is without a doubt one of the most touching, spiritual songs ever written. It reminds me so much of my dad. The words are so very much like the story of his life. "Great will be his reward." Thank God for people like my dad who gave all.
Having grown up in a pagan home, I am so very thankful for those who served & gave to the Lord back then. They forever changed a 12 year old's heart for Christ - forever.
sorry everyone, for some reason it's not showing new comments to approve so if i dont approve your comment it's because i cant see it not because i'm ignoring you! lol
