  • At 0:15, why the hell is the OU fight song (boomer sooner) playing?!?!?!

  • 2009 was a pay back

  • Namath insisted he was in the end zone....Nobis always avoided the question with "the referre said he didn't make it"

  • Too bad those 2 teams wouldn't play each other in the regular season.

  • Texas won the game that year and Arkansas was crowned the champion. Just another factoid from the great GREYMOOSE of USC.

  • not the case in 2009!

  • yohncold is right because both played for the Nets Super Bowl winning team. Also from Texas on that same team from that Orange Bowl are John Elliott, DL, Pete Lammons, TE, and Jim Hudson DB. In the Orange Bowl game Jim Hudson was the Texas QB.

  • wow watching that replay.....Namath did score......im not a big fan of either team...but Bama scored that touchdown

  • namath didn't make it . Nobis stuffed him!

  • Namath and Sauer both ended up playing for the jets

  • Namath was a good running QB as well until his knees became a problem.

He would have been even better if it were not for that.

Anyway, thanks for posting this video and thanks for the memories.

    Wow.

A lot of years have passed.

    No pun.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Damn this clip has dino shit on it lol.Good stuff.

  • Arkansas was the national champions that year due to Texas beating Alabama. Arkansas was the only undefeated team that season, including a win over Texas. This is Arkansas's only national championship year. WOO PIG SOOIE.

  • oh, he was in!

  • Bama scored that touchdown, damit!

  • I guess we will guess have to make up for this Jan 7 RTR

  • Compare this video to the 3:15 to 3:18 mark of "The Orange Bowl Story Part 1 of 3" - You will see Nobis (60) Blocked by McCollough (68) and Bowman (30) and Namath (12) propelled under Nobis by the surge of the Bama tailback (36) into the endzone on the back of McCollough. The Texas safety (37) then fell on Namath in the endzone.

  • @mrwebster2008 i watched the video you referenced, and you can't tell where namath is when the play ends. besides, if the texas safety fell on namath in the end zone, then they would have been in the end zone when they unpiled, which the refs would have seen to be a touchdown. So they must not have been in the end zone.

  • This is great but it should have been a few seconds longer to show Ernie Koy's great run.

  • It seems that the one(S) closest to the actual (Line) would have been Joe and the Texas players. For the last 44 years Joe Namathnot ranting, just answering insists he scored no Texas player HAS EVER disputed him. Why? They lived like they played-with class, they won;t lie. Listen, Texas won the game.Coach Bryant always said if you play well enough to win one call won't cost you the game. Texas won BEFORE that call. Bama didn't play well enough to win. That "TD" should not have mattered.

  • Only real problem is that Joe Obviously scored easily ! But you couldn't give it to him- he needed a haircut, I saw the game on TV>

  • OBVIOUSLY?

Joe Namath never crossed that line.

  • Watch this vidieo and then go to "The Orange Bowl Story Part 1 of 3" and watch closely between markers 3:15 and 3:18. You will see Nobis (60) blocked off his feet by Bowman(30) and Namath (12) propelled in to the End Zone over the back of McCollough (68) by the surge of the Bama tailback (36). The Texas safety

    (37) then fall on Namath in the end zone.
