Alexi is easily 10x the shredder Mick is. As I used to be a huge Slipknot fan before Vol. 3 (when they lost the brutal and gained the suck), Mick can certainly play fast as hell, but there is no melody is any of his solo's whatsoever.

Laiho is a true shredder. A drunk/sloppy shredder sometimes live, but even then he'll beat Mick in a battle.

I also play guitar. And Mick Thompson......LOL. Slipknot is a band made for teenies. Its easy ass riffing with just 3 powerchords in every song. There are no solos and complex riffs in their songs. I searched for Slipknot tab just for interresting and then i laughed. Its so fuckin boring to play Slipknot. I can learn this "riffs" in 1 minute while sleeping.
