  • 0:29 translation...he said "no"

  • Gun shots sound epic

  • Best scene of the entire film.

  • Great tactical lesson here. When confronted with a deadly weapon act first..act quickly..act deadly.

  • @GoHard4Home They were both armed clearly. The gun was in his face. Killed. And the other guy didn't even react but had his hand on the gun the whole time, when he fell dead... His gun was out laying next to him in his hand. Vincent is a sharp shooter lol. The second guy was shot "double tapped" in the chest and one in the head before he even hot the ground. A+ part of the film

  • @CopyRiteVio The second guy could have killed cruise but that would have been the end of the film!

  • @jmeove second guy had his hand on his gun but the gun was under his shirt and jacket tucked in his pants, you can see him struggling to get it out but by the time he did cruise was already aiming for him

  • @TheyRiseBand 1st you have the right to defend yourself. 2nd any citizen is allowed to walk around armed as long as he/she has a permit to carry a fire-arm. In this case if the gun was concealed, He would only face the charges of carrying a concealed fire-arm. This part of the film would not be considered murder, more as defending yourself. (Yes I know he's a contract assassin. I'm speaking only for this part of the movie).

  • Steve Austin got it the worse lol

  • :D

  • If any law-abiding CCW holder did this in LA County, he would go to prison for life, for "murdering" these two thugs. Wait, LA County wouldn't issue a law-abiding citizen a CCW, in the first place; guns are only for criminals, in the urban areas of California.

At any rate, one of the best gunfights in movie history. Though, it wasn't much of a competition... ;)

  • @TheyRiseBand LOL not to mention Vincent is not exactly a law-abiding citizen in this movie anyway :)

  • @TheyRiseBand Brother, that's why I live in Ohio.

  • Im pressing 8 over and over and that shot gets better every time ... :D

  • know what is best in this scene? .. the sound of shells falling!

  • i love this guy

  • Mozambique err day

  • Lesson learned? dont take tom cruise briefcase

  • Micheal Mann has a thing with his hit men or bank robbers being former special forces or had some type of special forces training. The out fit Tom Cruise wears is the same Robert Deniro wears in Heat, and Depp wears in Dillinger. The thinking behind this is if you saw someone commit a crime and told the police you saw a man with salt and pepper hair, grey suit, white shirt, average height and weight you couldnt pick him out of a line up. This could be anybody. Its not a disguise its Anonymous.

  • @b7r7u7c7e You're not kidding about Michael Mann and his thing with hic characters being former special ops. In the Miami Vice TV series, Lieutenant Martin Castillo was a former DEA agent as well as practically being a ninja-trianed assasin who killed KGB agents with a katana. No joke.

  • "Yo Homie..."

  • He put that third tap in before that guy was done falling. Skillz.

  • pulling out*

  • the second guy, the one on the blue jacket, took too long in taking out the gun.

  • @alejandronskiy second guy was probably unarmed the whole time and faking. that's what makes it funny

  • @GoHard4Home No you can clearly see 2nd guy has a gun in his hand when he falls down.

Besides who goes for a fake gun during a shoot out. You just run.

  • Snakey, action beats reaction, every time.

  • Love it!

  • Press 6

  • The thing i i appreciate most about this film is its one of maybe a handful of films that really show people how loud gunshots really are most people have no idea and the action scenes are realistic its refreshing not have have cgi bombs blowing up every 5 seconds.

  • 2 star wanted level???

  • Epic movie mistake - you can't see the damages which the bullets make.. lol

  • @Dickhael Not really.. In real life people don't explode with blood and guts when they get shot- only if the bullet goes through, the exit wound is what gets the most visual damage. Michael Mann really tries to get things as realistic as he can.

  • I thinks there should be a slow-mo button just for our viewing pleasure...

  • I practice this just about every day

  • idk why but I always get a kick out of how dude says "how bout your wallet" 0:13

  • HOLY SHIT!!!

  • Ouch...Did I see him do the Mozambique Drill on both of them??

    *looks again*...yep, he sure did!

  • @pheenix42 yeah, and if you watch very closely you can actually see him shoot the first guy twice in the chest from the hip, then he raises and shoots the other guy twice in the chest and raises a bit more for the head shot, and he gets his breifcase and does the second headshot... perfectly done scene

  • Classic CQD. If you have the money, as a civilian get your certificate, complete the training course(s) that are offered. There are schools all around the nation.

  • and that kids is how you properly use a hand gun.

  • 0 people disliked this because of what might happen if they did...

  • Sorry, I somehow posted before fully completing my thought process :):). I loved the latest RAMBO, and I really liked the expenbables, but it too could have been better. The HD film/camera's made it very hard to see the night scenes. I als wanted to see Jason Statum, inflict more pain to those clowns. Maybe we need to let Scorsese write and direct ALL serious dramatic movies, and BEFORE their release, let REAL MEN ((NON HOLLOW-WOOD)) real world MEN, dissect and smell check them!!

  • @MARKSMAN45ACP I am hoping The Dark Knight Rises is half as gd as the two other Batman reboot, as Christopher Nolan is the only one who can ie Scorsese shoes laces. In terms of cameras its always a tough call between HD film cameras and IMAX cameras as u made the point bout night calarity and IMAX cameras noise when moving

  • @amitpatel1121 AMEN Brother :):). We should collaberate and make REAL movies, for REAL MEN with BALLLLLLLLS!!! By all indicatations, there is not ONE "Y" Chromosome left in HOLLOW-WOOD anymore!! All they produce these days is Vile, Vapid, Vomitous DREK!!!! It is NO MYSTERY why their numbers have fallen to such record lows. I keep hoping that some brave visionary brave person, would start making real movies again. Ocassionally, we are teased with glimpses of b

  • @MARKSMAN45ACP Well all Hollywood produces now is crap like 'movies' like Harry Potter and Twighlight. For the last two years box offices reciepts keep falling and that is a true reflection on shitty Holly has gone i am afarid

  • Maybe ppl should go out Double tapping al these Low Life scum thats really exist in real life. How cool would that be

  • @amitpatel1121 great until someone innocent gets killed.

  • @22centman36 true gd point

  • Say what you want about Tom Cruise but in movies he is great

  • That's how you shoot.. Cruise is great in this movie.. this movie is Classic.. I think Cruise should be included in The Expendables cast.. Ive been watching Cruise's MI series and he's good especially when it comes to combat and guns.

  • LA would be a squeeky clean place had real americans do the same when robbed. The thefts would stop year one.

  • The second guy got double tapped to the chest and one in the head before he even hit the ground!

  • The reality of this scene is what makes it so tight. This is how real shoot outs would be.

  • Tom Cruise is a weirdo and I'm not really a big fan of his. However, he took command of this role and was fantastic. Him and Foxx worked well together.

  • Daaaaammnnn. That is some ruthless shit.

  • Thanks amitpatel1121, I'm glad that I'm NOT the only one who saw the COMPLETE OBVIOUS. MIKE MANN missed the boat before, in the final scene in HEAT. Neal had a significant lead running from Vincent, but ofcourse Vincent has BLOODHOUND DNA, so naturally, he knew EXACTLY where Neal fled to. Why couldn't Deniro win? "To Live and Die in LA" got it completely right. Just like REAL LIFE, there are NO STARS, NO EXEMPTIONS. If you screw up in a LIFE/DEATH situation, "It's Off with your Head!"

  • @MARKSMAN45ACP Plz dont get me started on that scence. Up until that scene it was a complete masterpiece. Absoulty it got it right, and I think if neal had escaped it would have done Heat complete justice.

  • AGAIN, HOW IN THE F@ck did JAMIE FOXX get an ACADEMY AWARD nomination for his SNIVELLING Pathetic character, and TOM CRUISE didn't get nominated and simply run away with the BEST ACTOR award for 2004??????????????? Fu$%ing LALA LAND NEVER gets anything right. VINCENT was ABSOLUTE BOSS. I really wanted to see the bad guy win it all in this one. I would have DOUBLE-TAPPED "MAX" in his stupid-ass head for what he did over the freeway!! That was Tom's Fatal flaw, DEVIATION FROM THE PLAN.

  • @MARKSMAN45ACP I couldnt agree more. U do have to wonder y the gd guy always has to win. I would have loved to have doubled tapped his ass from the beginning

  • That gun sounds sooo powerful

  • @Kingounnet95 its fucking fantastic

  • The Mozambique Drill.

  • Yo Homie

  • What else I got for you? Well I guess you can have some of these .45s out of my USP.

  • The motion looks so fucked... its like that with my new TV, the picture looks too real that it looks fucking shit :/

  • I fucking HATE tom cruise...except for his role in this movie.

  • I'd love to have Vincent as my bodyguard.

  • picked the wrong guy to mess with

  • guess they weren't getting what else he got for them

  • Community, served!

  • I love how the sound of the shots stays in the air for 5 or more seconds, looks a lot more real that those fake sound shots you ear in the others films.

  • @TheVblaster Micheal Mann the director of this film is known for never using artificial gun sounds most of the time, however in scenes like these he always has authentic sounds that sound pretty real.

  • @TheVblaster on the street the sound will stay for abut 5 seconds, in open space up to 8-9

  • Que hijo de la gran puta!!! xDD

  • Without a doubt the best gun scene in all of movie history. Cool suit, cool gun (H&K usp 45) and let's not forget about the cool blade he carries(the Chris Reeves sevenza). Pure class.

  • One of the very few rolls Tom Cruise excelled at so phenomenally. I was watching in utter awe that Tom Cruise was playing the character. Such a chilling, awesome, beautifully choreographed movie. Very underrated. Surprised Cruise wasn't nominated.

  • michael mann makes gun shots sound so awesome

  • I laughed at the moment he shot the guy in the head. It was like: "I said Down on the ground, motherfucker!"

  • Mozambique drill

  • @ForTehNguyen * failure to stop drill

  • did they died!?

  • @sk7ch You really think they would survive that.

  • @LittleManWannaBee11 Yeah, it's a movie...

  • @LittleManWannaBee11 I seriously doubt they died bro.. Lets be realistic here

  • Comment removed

  • @sk7ch Yes, they dieded...

  • @sk7ch 2 to the chest and one 2 the head, each... nobody lives

  • @sk7ch hand, stomach, head? Yeah, i think so:)

  • @sk7ch Well. They do kind of show up in a morgue later. so...

  • @sk7ch no, they survived 3 shots and walked away 2 minutes after.

  • 100% badass.

  • One of Cruises movies which makes he makes up for.

  • 2 in the chest 1 in the head LIKE A BAWS!

  • bad ass

  • what else you got for me? 2 bullets in the chest and one in yo head mothafucka

  • 0:29 Stay down, bitch!

  • Comment removed

  • pow, pow....pow, pow, pow..................pow

  • "FFFFFFuck !"

  • YO HOMIE !!!! (ahhh shits about to go down lol)

  • "What else ya got for me, huh?"

    "Let's see, I got a H&K .45 USP."

    Awesome.

  • best scene from the movie

  • @thedoomclock Agreed. My eyes popped when I first saw it, had to watch it like 4 times before resuming.

  • that's the shit!

  • 2 star wanted level???

  • No belt: so gay

  • OWNED!!!!!

  • The quality of the gunshot sounds are insane.

  • @ktm5194 they are pretty realistic. Gun shots, even from handgun calibers, are quite loud and resonate really strongly off surrounding architecture. Movies and TV shows that don't understand this drive me crazy. There's a show called Person of Interest airing right now and the gunshots practically sound like airsoft toys :( However, one problem with this scene is that the muzzle-blast is way too pronounced. Movie crews like to load their blanks with highly-flammable material.

  • @SANPH I'm actually watching Person of Interest myself.

  • What every armed thug deserves!

  • What a boss.

  • So much for those clowns. ✭✭✭✭✭

  • @KASPLARFO Yea lool

  • 0:18 for replay.

  • simply beautiful
