  • The original mirrors were odd on this model .a fancy chrome one on the L/H drivers door and one on the wing on the R/H side but you couldn't see much without using the centre rear view one. Like chrome wires and the original grill, earlier type spinners look better too .Split rear bumpers aren't found on the UK cars and look fine. In the Uk people think my car is a midget because of its bumpers, but its auto as well and R/H drive so very special.

  • ok may i ask why is there 3 rear view merros

  • Envy. So much pure, raw, unfiltered envy. She's a beaut, though.

  • Is it for sale?

  • Everyone uses those wood knobs I see. I have the same car as you but It needs new paint as well as the speedo fixed. I have the weber 2 barrel carb conversion and a rebuilt engine with an aluminum head.

  • 2:58 LOL

  • Lovely car and the perfect song to go with it!

  • NICE CAR, it's NEW !!!

  • still love that car

  • can anybody tell what song is this?

  • my dad used to have one just like that one red, except he made his own dash board, it was really nice wood polished

  • My father had, the "key" word is had, a B. It was canary yellow with balck interior. According to my mother, he ended up in a few front yards long before the days of DUI.

  • My dad sold his back in '99 when we made a big move. He regrets that decision.

  • I have a '69 MGB - I think they went for something around $2200-2500 new.

  • Does anyone have any idea how much this car would have cost new in 1970...thanks

  • Picked the right tune for the rightest of cars.

  • Great car! I just finished a MG tour with my dad in his Irish blue 1965 MGB, was really nice. Got sunburn in my face now though :)

  • Well Johnny, if your gal wasn't so FAT, maybe you'd be able....Haha

  • Brillaint!

  • Nice car I have a70 in the uk it was re-imported from the states. They didn't have the split rear bumper in the uk.or the three wipers or hazard flashers. My car is now R/H drive and auto matic, but still has the other US spec parts like the side lights. Your car doesn't have the original drivers side mirror which is a work of art. You also have the correct grille for the year. but the boot(trunk) badge is from an earlier car,. Like the sound and the car looks super..

  • Sunbeam Alpine, pure classic class. They are so hard to come by where I live. Fantastic. Was 67 the last year of production for the lovely Alpine. ? I think it may have been but not sure. I have done a carb upgrade, electronic fuel pump and a pre-ignition dump valve and an unleaded lump under the bonnet. Not much else though. Just looked at your video again. An mg always looks super cool with a lady behind the wheel [1:20]

  • I've got the MGBGT model, not the roadster. A bit more practical for our weather. Your car is lovely. You really have to drive these cars don't you. You feel the road. I have a grin on my face when I'm in it. Mine only comes out in the summer. Just came out of the garage today after much love and money spent on it. Mine is old english white. Your video put a big smile on my face, thanks and enjoy such a thing of beauty. Much respect from foggy old England.

  • You are absolutely correct that these cars need to be driven. I'm driving a '67 Sunbeam Alpine most of the time now. It has a Weber carb (staged 2 barrel), electronic ignition and GM alternator. It sometimes cracks 30 miles per gallon and is a plain blast to drive. With the very minor modern upgrades it's perfectly reliable. Still like to have some heavy V-8 iron in the garage, but for daily fun and economy these older sports cars are just fantastic. Thank you much for the nice comments.

  • hahahaha oh wow, my dad has one just like this, but not in nearly as mint condition as this one.

Im wanting to fix it up so that it looks as amazing as this one.

Plus, its weird seeing a left hand drive model too.

  • Thank you for watching and for the nice comments!

  • what a cool car. did anyone notice the plastic door mirror?

  • So far only you! I think the mirror (on the car when I got it) .is OEM from a later year, like 1974 - '80.

Good eye and thanks for the complement.

  • Speaking of door mirrors, I just put one on my midget after 9 years of doing without. This one is OEM for my year and I like the look of it off the car and in my hane, still getting used to the look of it on the car. The silvering is OK but is going bad in one small spot. Know of any place that can replace the mirror glass? BTW Nice B!

  • Well Sir, I am nearly speechless. Thank you very much for the comments!

I'd be happy to drive almost anything in the hills of Donegal.

  • that is the most beautiful car,, god himself would drive it if he were on earth!!!

class video, before i'm 25 i'll get me one of them and drive it about the hills of donegal, Ireland,

    pistonfreddy you are a master!!

  • Agree with them all.. great vid.. looking to buy one myself

  • Nice MG and I like your Ford truck too!

  • Thank you for the nice comments!

  • Fantastic looking car. I'm 20 and considering getting one.

What they like to drive, honestly?

And by that I mean handling, acceleration etc.

    Thanks

  • Hi thanks for watching and the nice comments. These cars are a BLAST to drive, particularly in good weather. Not so much in bad. It's hard to quantify why they are so enjoyable, but it has more to do with the sounds, smells, feel and look of the car than the performance. The handling is OK, but braking and acceleration lag badly behind any performance car and most modern cars. 12 secs. + to 60, top speed about 100 with O/D, 85 without. They can be modified, of course. Go get one today!

  • Nice MkII MGB! Very nice car.

You should buy one. I'm 21. I got one in July of 2008. It's an amazing car. Nothing like it. It's very true---you can't put your finger on why these cars have such a charm.

Performance isn't bad, it's just enough. They drive pretty solid to be honest. The later MGB's have brake boosters and it definitely helps. Do your tuneups and maintain it, it will treat you right for another couple generations. Keep these cars on the road.

You need to consider an MG!

  • Great car!!! Love how well kept you have it...

  • Great video

  • Thank you for watching!
