  • Excellent, as always !!!! - just bought las night a Northfield mini lockback in cocobolo wood. hope is as good in quality as yours.

  • Beautiful knife, Stefan. I'm looking to get add some traditional knives to my collection and GEC's are ones I've looked at quite a bit.

What site/s did you get those knives from?

  • @ATF6281914 NorthWest Knife Company offers a great variety of GEC knives. The link is in the description box.

  • @stschmalhaus

I saw that right after I commented. Where'd you get the Case? I wanna get a Barlow for my next trad. knife.

  • @ATF6281914 I bought the Case Prime Stag Barlow at KnifeWorks.

  • excellent review

    all god

    buzz

  • i am so glad you made this video. i had looked over all the review videos of great eastern cutlery and was becoming bored of them. i collect great eastern cutlery and personally feel they are without equal in the u.s. production knives. i am also a fan of case xx but, when i bought a few gec knives i found myself far more captivated by them, especially their wild acrylic patterns. i would recommend checking out their dead skunk acrylic pattern as well as their eggs and hot sause pattern.

  • Thank you for your review of a GEC knife. I'd like to see the difference in quality of life between a GEC employee and a Rough Rider employee.

  • Great review - it's so cool how you are leading the community. Not all knives are made by Spyderco. LOL! As most things in life, those with easiest access to something appreciate them least. It's nice for a European to remind Americans how beautiful a knife could be. Du bist der Meister, wir sind der Lehrling. :o)

  • @mrmonkeyman50 Have you been learning German while you were away? ;-)

  • i think great eastern scored big with their interesting packaging tube. did yours come with a card. im pretty sure most come with a birth card similar to chris reeves folders. maybe it was lost? i think most knife guys dig those cards as well.

  • @PavlovSandor No, mine didn't come with a card. Maybe only the serialized knives (with numbers) come with these certificates.

  • Great vid...

  • that knife is gorgeous. i've been seeing knives by this company here & there & i like what i've seen. congrats.

  • @INFIDELxSTRONG Thank you!

  • Nice review, Stefan! Its a great looking knife. It looks very old fashioned!

  • @SharpAirsoft Thank you, Adam!

  • GEC makes awesome pocket knives! I love the swedge on that blade and the stag is great, Case no longer does that on standard models. You have to pay the money for the Tony Bose series. Great video!

  • @rstrimp226 Thank you!

  • I had heard of GEC before but I did not know they were such a young company. I learn so much from watching your videos! Keep up the great work, Stefan!

  • @edgedweapon88 Thank you, Keelen! - Since I know that you have a small collection of Case knives, I'm sure you will appreciate the outstanding quality of the GEC pocket knives.

  • This looks like the pocket knife from FlashForward!

  • Oustanding job with the comparison. I was not familiar with this knife company but I will have to check em out. I admit I wasn't really into the "old timer" style of folders until I started watching your videos on them but I'm kinda getting into em now. Thanks for the great vid as always, Stefan.

  • @MrJimbofox Thank you, Jimbo! That's what I like about YouTube: You can learn from people that come from all parts of the world.

  • @stschmalhaus Your Case knife will be fine in a month. LOL!!!! What I meant was, after carrying the GEC for a month you will notice how much better it is than the Case quality wise. Like I said before, I own and love Case knives so I'm not bashing them at all. I just think the GEC is a much better knife.

  • @smelpyou I was afraid my Case had some kind of self-destruction mechanism... LOL

  • Great review, but there is no way that the Case comes anywhere near the quality of the GEC. Carry it for a month and check back with me. :) With that being said, Case makes a very nice knife and I own several of them.

  • @smelpyou As for the fit and finish, I can't detect any flaws on my Case "Prime Stag" Barlow. What do you expect to happen with the Case knife after a month?

  • Nice knife, this is why I watch youtube I always learn something new. Though that shipping time would have driven me nuts!

  • Check out Canal Street Cutlery. The Cannitler is my all time favorite slip joint.

  • @1snowreaper I will.

  • I hate those nail breaking back springs seems like the more you spend the harder they are. Beautiful knife though. I like my boker treebrand stockman made in Germany, really easy to open.

  • I kind of have to chuckle a little bit. Here in the USA, we talk fondly of German steel and the craftsmanship of same (justifiably so). Now I see your review and see that their are knife makers who are doing good quality work, enough to get a good nod from a German. :) Enjoy, it looks great "tactical" or not. BTW this is only the second review of a knife from this previously unheard maker, and then to realize how young they are. Thank you for review.

  • @TheRifleman336 My pleasure! Thanks for watching!

  • great vid GEC are the finest knives made today

  • @Doggorunning Thank you, Chris!

  • Thank you for the review, was unaware of this company. Very handsome knife you have there, hope to add one to my collection.

  • Great review, if i ever make another of my "custom" knives i'll send one over to you just so i can watch a video about my history lol :D should be fun to see

  • @TheLazySpoiledKitty LOL, that's a brilliant idea! I'm sure you would be very surprised by what I know about you.

  • @stschmalhaus ahh the wonders of facebook eh? :D

  • @TheLazySpoiledKitty I'd rather say: the wonders of my imagination! Why rely on facts when you can make them up? LOL

  • @stschmalhaus haha alright Stefan, if and when i make my second knife, you'll be the first to own it :), but for now we'll see how my first one turns out.

  • Those stag handles are really beautiful. Didn't expect these knives to be that expensive though.

  • Cool video, as usual.

Now that you're trying other brands of traditional American pocket knives, do you have any plans to pick up a Queen Cutlery or Schatt & Morgan knife?

  • @tendollarword I probably will. I've already been looking into these brands.

  • Excellent review, love traditional folding knives.

  • @ristin59 Thank you!

  • beautiful blade i like traditional knives quite a bit but dont buy many other then S.A.K's

  • Cool knife, great video

  • @BCKazu Thanks for watching!
