So what would have been the best possible outcome for this dog? The could have gone to live in a sanctuary, where it would live. It would either need to be kept caged, or live in a place with no other dogs. It would be ideal, but it's not the thing to do in the best interest of homeless animals in general. That same place could be home for a dozen dogs without these complicated and dangerous problems. So do we save this famous dog, if it means euthanizing 12 more perfectly healthy dogs?
@tunatunatuna24 The ASPCA had no problem keeping Oreo alive, as long as the donations in her name, kept flowing in. Curious how, once those donations slowed to a trickle, she was killed. Considering the money that it raked in, because of her, the ASPCA owed Oreo her life.
This is really sad. Maybe you should volunteer at a shelter instead of harassing people who actually help animals through their work. The world isn't perfect, but these protesters aren't making it any better.
You may not understand why. So follow the links and read as these people are profiting from greed, misery, deceit and death. Including human death too.
Ed Sayres makes a half a million dollars a year while dogs like Oreo are murdered by unlicensed "behaviorists" and on the ASPCA's watch, horses are worked and slaved to a miserable death in the streets.
He needs to resign and there needs to be a more responsible person put at the org's head - for the animals' sake.
As a matter of fact most of us do work at shelters and do other rescue work in our spare time.
Do you?
As soon as Ed Sayres, Victoria Wells and the ASPCA stop killing healthy animals and lying to their donors, we can go back to saving more animals. And you can get back to your 6 pack and The Shopping Channel.
THIS is why I now call them the American Society for the PERPETRATION of Cruelty to Animals!
