  • Hard to believe that rap actually had a message back in the day - nowadays, typical, can't spell 'crap' without 'rap'

  • ReeseMac you are spitting the truth about these fools that call themselves rappers. They rapping about nonsense

  • fuck narcissism. lessen the title in musicc !!!!!!!! Niceee

  • @onaycebar Nice one brother! U have hit the nail on the head!

  • i could never get tired of.. PE

in full effect from the Netherlands.

    cheers!

  • I could never get tired of this song!

  • Chuck D is the second best rapper EVER after Rakim. Old School Rocks!

  • Steppin' n my big black boots!

  • "A song to the strong about the shape of the snake and a smile went along with that..."-Chuck D

  • if you knew anything about rap u wouldnt be saying that... most all rap is poetry sped up with beats read the shit they are saying

  • They show the police beating that dude down, and this video was out a year before the Rodney King incident.

  • Damn! Real talk!

  • HERE COME THE DRUMS!!

  • PE in full effect, terminator X speaks with his hands

  • loko!!!!

  • What a Stonker!

  • PE's best video.......EVER!

  • "Without A Doubt" !!!

  • Flavor Flav's sunglasses are cool...

The greatest group of all times!!!

  • Im about as big a public enemy fan as you will find nowadays but I somehow hadn't heard this song yet. Sick like the rest. Thanks for posting it.

  • gud song

  • wow....azamin to find out

  • Probably the best PE song ever.

  • I can agree to "move on" but a message like this has to be repeated so that it never happens again.

And Chuck and PE delivered it with full voice LOUD. I aint black, but I sure can appreciate the way PE put it down. This song wasnt available for a minute on YOU Tube.

It takes a nation of millions like Chuck said.

  • lol it's very funny. public are the kings of rap. modern rappers suck

  • How many rappers today could deliver those lyrics the way Chuck D did? None!

  • 1555 cant truss it, 2008 still cant truss it!

  • This song was awesome for its time, but I think its time to start growing up a bit and realizing that placing blame instead of uplifting oneself is playing yourself.

  • thanks for the reply, you have great taste in music, i take your in your late 20s early 30s. but wtf do you mean by "start growing up a bit" and im not placing the blame on anyone. and you as an indian what authority do have to speak on this paticular subject.

  • I'm not Indian, im African from Tanzania...I just happen to speak about 7 languages which allows me to listen to music from 'many cultures...this song, for its time, when it came out, was very political, it gave people who could say nothing a voice, so, for its time, it was very loud, very heard. However, today, its a different story, people have more, compared to the early nineties, people have come a distance, so growing up is a mindset, not you individually but look at the bigger picture.

  • I don't know if you know anything about history, however, under the white man in control of India for 150 years (under the guise of the East India Tea Company) they murdered over 1 million people per year, do the math, about 150 million Indians. More than both slavery, the Jewish holocaust and the massacre of Russian civilians by the Nazi's during World War 2. I think if there were to be an Indian who chimed in, his opinion would be just as merited as your own.

  • thanks for the reply again, there are many asian/indian east africans in kenya, uganda and tanzania. i am well aware of british colonial rule in india and have studied the history. i have to dispute your figures though(1 million a year?).

  • wht does 1555 means in the song and 147????

  • 1555, that is the date when slavery is thought to have started.

  • thxx alot but wht abt 427? tahts another number 427? wht does that mean

  • 437 Years was how long Blacks have been in Amerikkka since slavery, at the time that this song came out. 1555+437=1992

  • Great stuff!! Message music not mu-sick.

  • damn I'm back in 12th grade again! this tape (didn't have a CD player back then) got a workout, LOUD!

  • Message in your music back in the day. This music (Public Enemy, KRS-1, X-Clan ) made you think about your own history and the world around you. This music was deeper than the hip hop / rap they got today. Now a days they're just rhyming about partying , sex , money while displaying their own narcissism. Thats essentially it. Rap has become about as shallow as disco.....for now.

  • I totally agree, nice comment!!!

  • you right

  • @ReeseMac aight

  • @ReeseMac yee man

  • Better quality than UMG's version!
