Thanks for these - I usually only play 40k with a couple of my friends at my house so it's good to see clear cut definitions of exactly what you are allowed to do. There are several rules which can be interpreted differently and it's good to see what is generally accepted in a wider gaming community
@Angryification see thats what I was told, but i have been playing all of the video games and by far I love the Tau, I also like Sisters of Battle but i did not see any in Games work shop, but i will give space marines a go, any particular chapter cool?
@ANBUspecialBlackops I'm not sure about the sisters of battle, never played with/against a sisters battle. Tau are pretty cool. They are more of a shooty army [ie no assaulting!] and they're model designs look cool IMO. With marines, I'm not sure about a particular marine chapter. That depends on what you like. If you like guys with cloaks and cool rules, go dark angels. If you like assaults, go for Black Templars. With marines, my advice isn't great since I made my own chapter [no special rules
@Angryification Sisters can put boots on the table at 3+ far better than anyone, since their basic troops are so dirt cheap. Faith powers make them extremely versatile.
@ANBUspecialBlackops Just pick a race you like. Like one who you want to become if it was real-life. Or your favorite race in dawn of war. All the races are good in there own way.
Had a 2v2 and i had someone who knew what they were doing and the enemy has orc trucks.. We blocked the chokes with rhinos so the orc trucks couldnt drop off their units into our troops. Pretty much kept them at bay the whole match while we just shot our LAS cannons on them. Pretty good for my first game
Hey, Great Video. Be aware of the use of the word "Template" though. The Round ones are Blast markers, not Templates. In a lot of the wording the difference is important. The Teardrop shape is the only one that is actually called a template. It's important because cover saves can never be taken from attacks that use the template, but cover saves can be taken with the blast markers (unless the rules for a weapon specify that they don't, eg. Whirlwind incendiary missiles)
In regards to the flamer over the tank- flame template weapons need to have as much as possible cover the hull of the tank, so if your flamer was along the middle of the tanks hull, it would have to cover at a 45* left or right, as that would cover more than going straight across. Same goes for trying to clip a second unit, while still counting as firing on another, or hitting models in CC with the flamer; you must cover as much of the target unit/hull as possible.
Just something to concider, if the land raider is distroyed. Then it's hull still blocks line of sight. If your using a flamer tamplate at model level then you wouldn't be able to use that tamplate because you cannot target something you can't draw line of sight to. Correct?
yeay 15 min. videos!... and i know every rule to the letter... i still lose ^_^ lol ... and doesn't the rule book say "center the template on the hull"?
@avragehuman Just have to place the center of the template somewhere on the hull, helps if you can forsee a scatter and want to mitigate the distance.

@ANBUspecialBlackops Space marines are the best starting race. The downside is that everyone collects them

For troops in the open getting shot at by tempaltes: set up your unit in either lines or circles to reduce the amount of models hit by the template.

You can use the flamer templates thru the Land Raider like that?
