I thought it was awesome to fight some bosses on the last stage. it's always funny to put in the keys and see all of the villains get away, except for Lizard, who is stuck and can't "fly away"

Beat it on nightmare too, a couple of times actually. Hated the hit detection, couldn't figure out Kingpin and spent a lot of time hitting the slob and not getting anything registered.

U can freeze the chain, MJ is hanging on with web then u have more time to beat the king pin. Only shoot diagonal on the upper end of the chain and MJ stopped.

I love this game. The only one to ever utilize the comics and have Venom terrorize MJ.

Oh man, I loved this game - I don't know how far I got as a kid but I used to play it all the time - I love the fact you could take pictures and web swinging.

That music and found effects sound very familiar with other games of that era.

Yeah, this game was hard. I liked the Sega CD version of the better, it was still difficult, but through a more innovative gameplay approch, you could try different stratigies on each boss.

graphics, music, controls were better, plus you got animated cutscenes, a total of 72 levels including 2 new boss levels (vulture and mysterio).

I played that game non stop as a kid. I tracked down the genesis version in 2002 - needless to say, it didn't have as much of a lasting effect as the CD game.

oh yeah, and in the CD game the gameplay switiched to a semi fighter, as (unlike this version) each boss had a seprate life bar. Kingpins life bar would regenerate if you waited more than 3 seconds between punches. Besides that, Venom and Sandman had to be defeated by other means besides puching so if you puch them, the life bar would go down, the go back to full.

Yeah I hated this game when I was somewhere between 5-10.

The bomb would always blow up and when I eventually did work out the order and got to the kingpin bit I'd never defeat him because I was always too busy crawling around the room trying to work out how to save MJ, I thought it couldn't possibly be enough time to beat him, seems I was wrong, lol.

I can't imagine ever spending my time playing through a game to only get it restarted like that on me with no saves these days.

if you defeat all of the villains again all at once you get a bunch of points and a medal and also on level four, if you are ever low on health, remember the first tree you can swing up to. there is a health pack on the branch and if you get it and go to the apartment and back, the health pack is there again, repeat this process of getting the health pack over and over until your health bar is maked out

Amazing! I remember playing this game waaay back! The guy at FuncoLand told me he got to Kingpin but never beat him. I thought (well, I'll beat him easy!) I was wrong. I got as far as Kingpin many times but never got more than one or two hits on him... This boss is HARD to beat! Great job!
