Even though the best ending was supposed to be all happy, this one matches more even though it's sad. :*(

Until about 5 minutes ago, I always thought this was the only ending in the game...

In fact, this is by far my favorite ending. I don't like the good ending or the bad ending. (Though the bad ending is actually kinda freaky. :P )

@griggins i think this is the real ending because in BoF3 it opens with a cave and a skeleton of a dragon. So it is safe to say that the skeleton in the cave in BoF 3 is ryu from BoF 2

@solidus927 But if that were so, where'd Deathevn go? BoF3's Ryu reminds me more of the original games Ryu and BoF3's big bad turns out to be Myria again, who I think isn't so much pure evil as totally bonkers.

@randomnumbers8009 Speaking of Myria, BoF3 mostly portrays her like she's good until the end when Yggdrasil's comments through Peco indicate she's just deceiving everybody, but it makes me question the characters sanity. Actually even more so, since in previous games she granted evil wishes and sicked a demon on the world as revenge. Deathevn seems to be nuts to, talking as if the world should WANT to be destroyed.

I remember getting this ending the 1st time I beat the game. I couldn't believe how sad it was. I replayed the game again and discovered that there's a better ending to the game than this one.

it is similar to breath of fire and (i think there are 10 old people who is the guys master) the guy have 3 friends and in the end inside a castle(i think) the end boss comes and takes his friends (i think he makes them statues) and says that "you(the hero) deserves to live like this grieving on the sorrow of your friends who are dead because of you"

No, the dragon is Ryu himself. It is a different color and all of that. The ending depends on the choices you make when you talk to your mother, and whether or not you got the Flying Township in your travels. If you say to wait it out, you will get the bad ending. If you beat Deathevan and don't have the Township, you get this ending. If you do have the Township, you get the good ending.

This games was one of my top 2 of all time for story lines other is FF X, great childhood memories, it took me 3 years to get the good ending, I always thought this was the true ending, because I refuse to look at guides, ruins the reply and fun. Truly great game.

This really is one of the saddest games I've ever played. I was 9 in '94 and bawled my eyes out because the story/plot of BoF II felt so real even tho it's a fantasy game. It truly is one of the best RPG stories, every character is so 3-dimensional, and there's so many decisions Ryu has to make throughout the game that you really get into it.

I'd like to think that the best ending (which I eventually got in my 2nd playthru) is the real one in my mind. But the other 2 are so sad they bother me.

@starttape I hear you. After the "Our Journey" overworld theme starts playing, the game becomes a rollercoaster of tears. Mina, Claris and Tiga, Ray (no that much, but he's still kindred to Ryu), and Daisy... oh God, poor Daisy! Then there's Valerie's story, the burden of the dragon clansmen and of course, the true mission of the fated child.

I also like to think of this as the true end, and of the other one as a happy end.

@starttape The story to this game is definitely memorable.My first time getting this ending, it was Nina who ran back to Ryu. Her reaction and what she said to him, I thought, was deep and touching. I believe she loved the guy. I didn't realize it until this point, and it left me in shock because she's usually quiet through most of the game. I wasn't expecting her to break down like that.

Well, this is the ending I got on my first go through. Oh and the audio/video are unaligned. BTW can you upload the ending you get when you choose to Wait to go into infinity. It's a choice you get before going underground. I think it's after you get the people to blow up the gates.

I never saw this ending, I just got the good one(which required the Township to fly). Now that I see Ryu guarding the entrance, I also see the colors of his G. Dragon transformation, meaning it's the one he used.
