  • I like George Michaels version but he had a lot of studio effects on his vocals even on the backgrounds. I would like to hear him live to try and compare, even though to do better than Stevie wonder's especially at Michael Jackson's Memorial. Now that was powerful.

  • @CoolPhyaMusic Usually GM can sing better live than the actual record.

  • quelle voix! quelle magnifique chanson! c'est merveilleux! j'ai rarement ententu quelque chose d'aussi beau! george michael est l'un des meilleurs, et même le meilleur pour moi! I LOVE U GEORGE!!!!!!!!

  • what movie is this

  • @lunejersey A Prayer for the Dying (1987)

  • The man can flat out sing!!

  • GEORGE ERES Y SEGUIRAS SIENDO LA MEJOR VOZ ,INCREIBLE ESTE HOMBRE!!!!..........

  • What a beautifull and sad song

  • brilliant song, brilliant artist and brilliant film.

  • there is a sad beauty in this song.

  • Kevin Max does by far the best version.

  • No more lying friends

    Wanting tragic ends

    Though they do pretend

They won't go when i go

  • I love both versions of this song. I must also say that George's "Listen Without Prejudice" is one of my ALL TIME favorite albums. Every song is a treasure.

  • I love both stevie and Gerage. I love stevie all the more because he sang this song at MJ's funeral; a song pehaps written for Michael.

  • @NEVERLAND153 Stevie made me cry at that funeral

  • @NEVERLAND153

For your info: Stevie Wonders song was released on the album Fulfillingness in 1974. George Michael was 11 years at the time.

    ;-)

  • Thanks for this critical info. But what it has to do with my view point that stevie's version is better than that of Gearge???

  • Dude, you literally said: "a song pehaps written for Michael "...

    i stand corrected...

  • Babe, u beat me. I have no issue of ur standing correct. if thats make u happy. U r happy-- i am happy. What i am trying to say that even if Steive wrote this song way back in 1974, it looks as if he was writing it for MJ. period.

  • I love both Stevie's and George's version in a very different way. Stevie's is the original, and I think these original songs always have their very own mood, unique and catchy. However, George's version shows how much he likes this song, because he put a LOT of emotion in his singing.

  • @Ophea4Raph I couldn't agree more with anybody.

  • @natagaima =) Thanks

  • The film is 'A Prayer For The Dying' (1987) and my advice is not to bother. Incidentally, the same director made the peerless 'Get Carter'. Both versions of this song are outstanding - we are very lucky to have two such artists.

  • I'm wondering what movie this is too. Anyone know? I think it's funny how some people think George did this first. I can't just listen this song once. I'd say 4 times in row at least. I also can't sing along with this song in my car because i get so into it i'd probably crash. ha ha.

  • hilarious ... i did the same thing the other day ... and someone laughed at me from another car!!!!!! i just found this song on a old TAPE!! and i am addicted ......

  • plese sy could tell me which film is it in this video? thx

  • This song was originally recorded by Stevie Wonder. This version is a cover. Very good, but a cover. Stevie performed it for Michael's funeral, but it's a very old song.

  • cette version de mickael est pour moi la meilleure! this is better!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the original by stevie wonder is better

  • I love, love, love this song and Stevie killed it...YES in a BAD way! I did a contemporary dance solo to this version in 95 and it was one of the best pieces I have ever danced. Sorry Stevie, you should have chosen differently!

  • u out yur mind!!! George did a good job but Stevie brought depth to this song!!!

  • @Kiimonster

Stevie should have chosen differently? He wrote the song. And I love George but if you really listen to his version, it's basically the same as Stevie's. Stevie's is more haunting because of the synthesizers he uses. Hands down Stevie's is better.

  • Wow I'm speechless.......George's voice really is perfection.

  • this rules lol stevie wonder did this song good too because u can tell stevie put all his true feelings into it

  • George and Steve you and this song is for Michael Jackson........:(:(

  • George is paying his respect to stevie as here does on all his albums

  • i like both versions.

RIP Michael Jackson. miss you :(

  • I personally love both versions. George has a magnificient voice, just like the ever so great Stevie. I love them both as artists. I can't pick which I like the best because they both bring such a beauty to the song.

  • I'm sorry folks. George does a great job, he really does. But for all those saying this version is better than Stevie's... no, and not just because Stevie wrote it.

Stevie has a broader range vocally when he sings it. He can hit more of the high and low notes. Trust me, you'd have to hear it before you say George's version is better. George sounds great, but he misses on some of the lows and highs.

You have to hear the original to understand what I'm talking about. No diss to George.

  • I dunno, I think Stevie's is WAAAAY better.

  • @tnj2323 Nah, George sand this better than Stevie by far!

  • why does everybody say this is better than the stevie version? it's a good cover but not even close to the original.

  • thank you!

  • as the movie is called

  • the start sounds like moonlight sonata with the piano

  • powerful and emotional! thought provoking!

  • For me, the best

  • great song !
