it's not richard, bernard recorded all guitar tracks on dog man star before he left the band

not all of them, actually... There might be some other song not recorded by bernard, but the only one i really know it's not Bernard it's "The Power". The guitar you hear in the track was played by Brett. But the album was almost complete when Butler left the band so most of the guitar tracks (almost all of them) were recorded with him...
