  • nice simulator in the back do you fly sims

  • Great video ;) i watched it 5 times :) 5 stars

  • lyrics?

  • Steve, do you really know espanol?

  • lyrics?

  • I remember back in '99 when you picked me up from flying back from NYC to LA and you played "Heavin on a Jet Plane" at your next set. Made me laugh hysterically and diminished my comfort with the pilots of every airlines! Comedy Boy, this is why I prefer to drive. LOVES IT!

  • Awesome. Almost as cool as seeing it live.

  • To bad for all of the attention distracting toys available today. Maybe the pilots have a chance filing a lawsuit for 'An Attractive Nuisance' ?

  • those pilots flunked judgement-ATC did not forget 2 listen 2 control instructions! ATC unfortunately is responsible not only for what ATC says but for what the pilots say over the airways!!!

  • No one has posted a comment in 4 days.

I thought maybe I'd chip in.

  • nice song

  • The banjo at 1:27 has no strings on it. Haha.

Great job on this song. It's quite good.

  • What?? You accuse me of playing a string-less banjo? It DOES have strings... they're just hard to see. Now... full disclosure... the French Horn has no strings. And the "iPhone" is really a Verizon thing. But the BANJO HAS STRINGS! :)

  • Well, Steve, now I have to ask this. Is that REALLY a clip-on tie?

  • Nope. You got me. I tied the tie. :(

  • Aha! And you thought you could get away with it... (:

  • I did... I DID think I could get away with it. So... when are you going to point out that "Terminal 3" is actually Terminal C-21? Eh? EH?

  • Not before I commend you for wonderful choice in literature.

  • Ah... yes... you noticed the HP... I thank you. And I commend you for your fabu choice in Zimmerman covers. As part of "Actual Size" I have been known to sing "My Conservative Girlfriend" and "Ain't No Liberal." Such fond memories...

  • @stevegoodie03 well it ain't really an iphone,, thats true.. lol =))

  • Was that Rosanne!?! LOL

  • awesome, super, incredible !!!!!!!

reality can be so hard ;-)

  • lol

  • This is a great video; I find it hilarious and I think it is good for safety awareness. Im not totally against personal electronic devices in the cockpit; however I think they should only be used in a safe and professional manner. They can be a very dangerous distraction. The lyrics in this video are very clever.

    Bravo.

  • it isn't even an iphone

  • This might just pass Sarah Palin. But that's two vids with over 100K views. And people like them too! My highest viewed video is about 1/5 of this and people hate it!

    Great song!

  • hah its like me when im studying

  • ha thats hilarious

  • Doh....

  • Steve! Great job! We wanted to spoof the NW guys, and I bought some hats and epaulets, but then my BFF didn't do it with me.

Ed and I loved this! Great lyrics, great editing. Loved the shots. Loved Sarah and the Stooges. Loved the ending as a pilot in Columbia. Love the view count! Way to go!

    ~ Fer

  • Hilarious video, by the way! The monitors announcing the status of the flight were a great touch...

(some apologies may be due to John Denver)

  • In the Defense of the Lost Laptop Pilots. What price should a person pay for making a mistake? Should a police officer be able to shoot a shoplifter? Let the punishment fit the crime.

I have a much longer response but am limited by this site's 500 word limit.

    Mark L Berry

  • @pushingleaves - Since 9/11, off-track airliners are considered a threat. Fighter jets were preparing for take-off to shoot the plane down if necessary. Losing their licenses is an appropriate punishment for the pilots' "mistake." There were two pilots at the controls. Only one can afford to be "distracted" at a time. Answering radio calls from air traffic control is a fairly minimum requirement to be permitted to fly a passenger plane.

  • So are you held to the same standards for your livelihood where you'd have to go start a new career all over?

  • As a matter of fact I am. There are numerous ways I could have my license permanently revoked. My husband holds a commercial pilots license and 3000-ton masters mariner license. There are numerous ways he could have his license permanently revoked and he agrees that this punishment is appropriate. The ship pilot who hit the Oakland Bay Bridge was sentenced to18 mos in prison for negligence. Losing a license is a much smaller price than that.

  • A boating pilot's license isn't really the same thing or skill set nor is the negligence in taking out a bridge comparability to pilot's being distracted while on auto pilot. Would your husband be ok with him loosing his license for missing radio calls or navigation errors while out at sea?

  • To golfwhiskey871 : Absolutely. Navigation errors at sea result in accidents & groundings. Ask the captain of the Exxon Valdez. The airline pilots were out of radio communication for over an hour. They wouldn't have heard calls re:other traffic in their airspace (which could easily be a problem if the other pilots are doing the same thing they're doing.) No hard feelings, just happen to think that the pilots are supposed to be aware of the plane, radio, &surroundings - even with auto pilot.

  • Excellent! Answers many questions I had as a passenger! ; )

  • Hahaha! Loved hearing it on the FUMP last week. I tried to find but couldn't the song or video of the original parody "Heaving on a Jet Plane" by the Royal Guardsmen.

  • You know you shouldn't be laughing but ... (literally) LOL!

  • I am a retired EAL/AA international flight attendant. I also make tons of videos. I never laughed so hard in my life! This video is perfection.! LOVE IT.

  • Pretty well done indeed. Too bad for those pilots, now they are retired from aviation. They did massive damage to the airline pilot community. We will never really know the truth of what they were doing. Maybe we don't want to know. Could be a scary or embarrassing one.

  • Rest in Peace, Mary Travers

  • And John Denver.

  • Yes, I know he wrote the song. I had forgotten that he, too, is no longer with us.

  • Too, too funny! :-D

  • how cute!!! in spite of everything GOD was their protector!! where were the fighter jets?????????

  • That is the fault of the ATC. ATC did NOT notify the proper authorities due to a shift change, so the jets were not scrambled.

  • I love the random shot of Otto Pilot from Airplane! LOL! (Look out beloooooow!) Haha!

  • G1 ROFL FYSBIGTBABN IMO its SOP TOBAL B4N

  • I think that says it all. --Steve

  • The whole problem is that he "mapquested" it. Mapquest sucks! You might as well pack a lunch when you get directions from them!

  • Stupid

  • This video is circulating among the pilots of Northern Idaho. Everyone up here thinks it is hilarious

  • Loved it!! Well done!!

  • i think i laughed right now.nope sorry

  • Airline pilots, by law, are only allowed to work 80 hours a month. And they don't have enough time to tweet!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Under current rules, pilots generally can fly up to eight hours a day. Their workday, which includes time on the ground between flights, can extend up to 16 hours. There are no restrictions on flying during the middle of the night or making numerous takeoffs and landings. That actual time they count starts when the parking brake is released and stops when it goes back on. But yeah, no excuse for what they were doing, that's crazy.

  • Since when are pilots only allowed to work 80 hrs a month? This is news to me and all the pilots I work with!

  • Nicely done, do you live in Nashville??

  • What's up with choking the chicken? LOL

  • force twitting!!

  • It's easier to text while flying than while driving. ;)

    Great song!

  • Bravo! very very funny.. LOL

  • very funny !

  • very good!

  • AWESOME!

  • Very clever....fun stuff !!

  • That was your best video yet.

  • This reminds me of the first time I heard "American Pie."

    (sniff)

Hey. Where DID you learn to 'habla espanol' ? Tee hee!!

  • Brilliant! So funny and well produced. Kudos and 5 stars!

    Frank

  • Great stuff as always from Mr. Goodie!
