On most of those 3 way switches you, or I could move it to the other positions but had to be careful while picking or it would click back to one of the 3 positions. I could use it like a 5 way. Then I had it in the case in the back of a 240Z & threw a flat tire on top of the case & it must have popped the spring off the switch. From then on I could move it freely to ANY position & it would stay there but of course I was moving the switch through the 5 positions that way easier than I had before.
We've got a '65 Strat in Candy Apple Red at home as well. But in a way better condition because it spent the last 30 years behind the couch (don't ask me why). The question I have is: how much is it worth? The biggest marks are as big as the nail of my pinky and there are not too many of them... It's all original and sounds awesome, but unfortunately we don't have the original case anymore...
I would appreciate if you could tell me what you think. :)
i wish you were my dad bro.. haha

Looks pretty worn, but Candy Apple Red is probably my favorite Strat color.
