Sorry, this version is awful!! Fauntleroy looks like a prissy little Nellie Olson from Little House on the Prairie (without the curls). YUCK. At least the little boy in the 1936 version (played by Freddie Bartholomew) is believable as a little boy! To say the least, his acting was superb. Ya, Bartholomew's character was a bit of a fancy, but he had no problem fighting with the tough hoodlums in the scene were they took his bicycle. The little blond kid was too annoying to watch.
