The one and only Tabla Maestro imho is the Late Ustad Bashir Hussein "Goga" whose one rare live recording says it all. On esnips. If any one has more videos Ustad Sajjad Ali please upload.

btw another unique maestro is late Ustad Amir Hussein Khan who had a gifted hand like Ustad Goga.

I also think it is raag Kaushidwani. In this raag Rishabh (Rikhab) and Pancham are not supposed to be used. I hear all shudh sur so this is more of a Mishar Kaushidwani. I love this clip...tabla is ammazing and naghma on harmonium is mind blowing. please post more of them. thank for sharing.

Oh my god....mine blowing. Which raga is this? I am an afghan and I don't know much about classical music but this melody and tabla made me cry when I heard it the first time. My words can not simply describe this amazing pure music.

the style of tabla he is playing is just amazing. you dont hear compositions like that anywhere elsem this is pure punjab. punjab gharana puts a bit more emphasis on the tihais. the copositions are simple, but the ones he played rely on speed and lai. ustad bashir hussain goga had probably the most original and facinating compositions i have ever heard.
