@mareforza10 Have you actually used one of these before? My local BBQ place has these all over the place, in the restrooms and by the "hand washing" area. You can easily place your hands in the dryer and not touch anything. If anything, you'd touch the yellow band with your wrist and not your hands. This machine is very effective. I only wish more places had these.
stupid machine! it makes u touch the yellow rubber band touched from everyone. the strong airstrem that does not allow you to stay still in the center. NOT IGENIC AT ALL! a traditional hand dryer does not make touch any shit and dry my hands as fast as this shit without even the need of moving my hand... and with the traditional I can also use my hand for deviate the air to my face and dry that one too... Stupid design that try everything to make things different but makes them worse indeed
Some of their gadgets are cool but this one not so much. Seems too much like a gimmick more than a useful tool. It's like they're running out of ideas and grasping at straws.
I had a go on one of these yesterday, i was a bit smashed anyway and oulled my hands through in like 30 seconds, thought this doesn't work well, and wiped my hand down someone elses trousers
oh, i feel stupid, i was like WTF THIS IS SO STUPID!!!! WHY DOES EVERYONE LIKE THIS?!?!?! then i saw he was talking about a hand dryer that they didnt make.
It would be nice if you didnt have to move your hands so slow.
Used it inside Universal. Didn't work that well at getting my hands dry though? I actually thought I was supposed to touch the sides to scrape the water off because it wasn't working the way he shows it.
I like how James Dyson trys to take credit for "inventing" a hand dryer that Mitsubishi trademarked in 1993 and are EVERYWHERE in Asia, including the antibacterial coatings. His "inspiration" was traveling and stealing. But... definitely like using these machines over the cheap "evaporating" style gas station blowers. Sucks to have to touch the dirty door handle on the way out, though! Hahaha.
@whatabro and then, dyson "invented" the automatic door, using motion detection technology, dyson has created a door that opens when you walk up to it, hands free.
His information about "germs" is incorrect. Even the best growing bacterial strains only multiply once every 30 minutes; certainly long enough for your hands to dry even if you did nothing. Also, antibacterial coating on the machine isn't going to kill all the bacteria.
How strange, I have two Honours pass certificates from the Royal Institute of Public Health and hygiene. I learned this. "At normal room temperature, food poisoning bacteria can multiply every ten minutes so that one bacteria can be 17,000,000 in four hours". Maybe the Royal Institute needs some education !
My point still stands: even 10 minutes is long enough for your hands to dry.
I completely agree that potato salad left out for many hours on a warm summer day could support the kind of bacterial growth you mention, but the same is not true for a hand dryer and the ad is misleading.
If the old fashioned hand dryer needed to use the air in the washroom to blow hot air on your hands wouldn't the Dyson one still do the same thing? It's also using air from the washroom to blow onto your hands, sure it's a blade of air but it's the same air.
noooo the dyson work's like and air purifier, it has a hepa filter, It blow's air out at almost 400 mph It's the real deal trust me. it's alot quieter now also.
Nice work, Mr. Dyson, but... What about user error? I can easily see careless people run their hands on the blades by mistake. By the end of the day in a busy bathroom they'll be dirty very quickly.
If the hand-space can be larger, I think it would work great.

other hand dryers use the air in the room to dry which is dirty. which air does this dryer use mr Dyson; air from the mountains?. :)
whatsmyname189 7 months ago
@whatsmyname189 it filters the air and eliminates 99.9% of bacteria in it.

so where does the air come from that the dyson hand dryer blows out if not from the same bathroom?
tamingthekat 1 year ago
@tamingthekat the air is drawn through a hepa filter and a uv lightto kill the bacteria it think

I'm sure it has some sort of filter in the base/stand to purify the air.
