I love both bands, these two are my favorites. I just feel like Petes lyrics are deeper.... Both have awesome riffs... Ben's voice kinda gets to me sometimes...in some of his songs the change in the pitch of his voice can bug me once in a while. CHEVELLE WINS!!!

bb seems to have SLIGHTLY fallen victim to the mainstream rock outlet... cheVelle are still around today, with their signature melodic, somewhat progressive tool-influenced (yes i said it lol) rock sound. when bb comes on the radio, it seems to blend in with alot of the other mainstream bands out there. although chevy has evolved alot since the wonder whats nxt/this type of thinking days, when they come on the radio, u kno its them - and thats all due to pete's creative genius. love em both tho!
Tie....they're both amazing singers/songwriters! I'm glad Chevelle is still rockin' out and wish BB was still together. I hope Ben is healthy enough to put out some more music.

Chevelle is just sort of the gray area in music, its there, its nice to listen to it, i have their music. but rarely have i ever just thought "i want to listen to Chevelle now" i can listen to any given breaking benjamin album through and through and get something out of it. not a track skipped, i cannot do this with Chevelle
IMO; Power of the Riffs: Pete's riffs are a lot more creative and raw; Ben's riffs are hard, but at moment sounds uncreative. Point to Pete. Power of the Voice: Both have their pros and cons: great on studio, but regular at live. Draw Power of the Single: The first was really hard, but to me The Red it's a little better than Polyamorous. Point to Pete Vitamin R > So Cold. Point to Pete Well Enough Alone < The Diary of Jane. Point to Ben Jars < I will Not Bow. Point to Ben PETE 3-BEN 2 PETE WINS!
@DB15covers I agree with almost everything you said, especially the fact that Ben's riffs can sound old. But I strongly feel that I Will Not Bow is not a better song than Jars. I Will Not Bow is lyrically unoriginal and conveys the same tone and feel as songs from all of BB's older albums. It's perfect for a high school athlete trying to get pumped up before a game, but it's just not creative at all. Jars's lyrics stimulates way deeper thinking and deeper emotion than I Will Not Bow.

These guys are both great with riffs and lyrics. Personally though,although neither is better than the other, I like Pete's taste a bit more. Just keep in mind, if you're focused on which riffs are better, remember that Ben gets help considering there's 2 guitarists in BB, unlike Chevelle where Pete is the only guitarist and sometimes even writes the bass lines.

@CheVelle12494 you are right with pete being the better vocalist, thats a given if you listen to any of the albums or live performances, but in terms of drummer skills chad wins hands down no contest, he is a proffessional jazz fusion drummer by nature, and the chops he can lay down (when he isnt playing for breaking benjamin) beat most rock drummers out there. not dissing sammy though coz he has an epic style and both drummers are a huge influence on me :3

Mexican Sun! I wake up every morning to that chorus from my alarm, it's powerful despite it's meaning! Love So Cold by BB, good song. You should of put some guitar from Wonder What's Next or maybe Another Know It All in here, really good songs.
His songs may not have as strong lyrics as Pete's, but Ben is amazing and I've been following Breaking Benjamin since the beginning. I love Chevelle, but all-in-all Breaking Benjamin is the best band of all time (my opinion, so no hateful comments please)...

Good comparison... Love them both. But if you are talking about a "powerful riff", BB has a Lead guirtarist (Aaron Fink). Where Chevelle only has Pete. So in that case Pete deffinitly holds his own.... It's Pete all the way.
Pete. Hands down. I have seen both live and Pete is the better musician and vocalist. He constantly plays the guitar, while Ben relies on Aaron Fink to carry the performance until the chorus.
No comparison really. I like BB but in a Pete vs. Ben Pete owns this own. Pete plays all the time during live shows as Ben only plays backup. Also Pete is 2nd only to Maynard of TOOL when it comes to vocal range. He also has way more energy on stage during live shows. No comparison. PETE!!!!!

my 2 favorite bands, and i've seen both live. both a great writers, in different ways. ben can write a song and you know exactly why it was written, pete can take an abstract idea and write a song about it. i think pete is a way better guitarist. ben is still great, but he plays rhythm. pete is everything for chevelle. also, ben doesn't play as much while singing. pete also writes more diverse riffs. for singles i say they tie, all great songs. for 2009 singles, i give pete the edge again. pete is better, pete = chevelle, he has a better voice(Pete has a unique voice), sings and plays always,ben not,
ben depends on the musicians,ben is only part of breaking benjamin,Pete is certainly better than ben.
My vote is for Pete.

The Bend the Bracket vocals and Forget It comparsion was an odd one.
Mexican Sun! I wake up every morning to that chorus from my alarm, it's powerful despite it's meaning! Love So Cold by BB, good song. You should of put some guitar from Wonder What's Next or maybe Another Know It All in here, really good songs.
Still, have to give it to Pete.

His songs may not have as strong lyrics as Pete's, but Ben is amazing and I've been following Breaking Benjamin since the beginning. I love Chevelle, but all-in-all Breaking Benjamin is the best band of all time (my opinion, so no hateful comments please)...

PETE LOEFFLER FTW! I can never get enough of Pete. ^_^ I saw Chevelle live at the Carnival of Madness: their raw sound carried them far above all of the other bands. <3

Good comparison... Love them both. But if you are talking about a "powerful riff", BB has a Lead guirtarist (Aaron Fink). Where Chevelle only has Pete. So in that case Pete deffinitly holds his own.... It's Pete all the way.

Pete. Hands down. I have seen both live and Pete is the better musician and vocalist. He constantly plays the guitar, while Ben relies on Aaron Fink to carry the performance until the chorus.

No comparison really. I like BB but in a Pete vs. Ben Pete owns this own. Pete plays all the time during live shows as Ben only plays backup. Also Pete is 2nd only to Maynard of TOOL when it comes to vocal range. He also has way more energy on stage during live shows. No comparison. PETE!!!!!

@wmc128 yeah i understand that its just that these guys are so similar and everyone who likes chevelle likes bb and vice versa pretty much. Its just cool to finally have a side by side comparison. I tried my hardest to use even, similarly sounding and set up songs

my 2 favorite bands, and i've seen both live. both a great writers, in different ways. ben can write a song and you know exactly why it was written, pete can take an abstract idea and write a song about it. i think pete is a way better guitarist. ben is still great, but he plays rhythm. pete is everything for chevelle. also, ben doesn't play as much while singing. pete also writes more diverse riffs. for singles i say they tie, all great songs. for 2009 singles, i give pete the edge again.
