  • I love everytime she shout "ooppa". Cute!

  • Deserves to be top 5 but sorry she is not number 1 material

  • Well, she has been holding the number 1 spot for 64 weeks! I would say she has well deserved the spot. Thousands of other girls and women try to get up the rankings, but Wozniacki is, whether you like it or not, still the #1, because of her consistency form of playing. She is primarily a defense player and probably the best one we've seen.

  • Caroline is a great player to be in the top 10 but not a Grand Slam Tennis Player , She waits for Errors more then going for winners , Also Her rank is only number 1 because the good players are injured but Serena is back that number 1 is going to be hers

  • but she can't put the ball away. she is a quality player. but she is no serena, or kim, or even venus

  • not a good enough reason!!

  • I'm not someone you could call a Wozniacki fan but, to be honest, I'm really tired of hearing and reading that Wozniacki doesn't deserve to be Number 1. Of course she does because the WTA computer says that thousands and thousands of other women and girls AREN'T Number 1 including Serena, Sharapova, etc. If you all have any gripe it's with the WTA & the system they use to rank players. The WTA is at fault, not Wozniacki. All she does is walk on the court & play.

  • @tjanyc1 The said the same thing about Kim Clijsters when she was the world no 1 but never won a grand slam. Haters!

  • you could argue there are 7 better plays than her

the 4 GS winners of 2011, Sharapova, S.williams and Azarenka

she just steals 10000 of points from nothing tournaments when the real champions are taking a rest

  • such a wannabe "beauty queen" like wozniacki doesnt deserve to be number 1. her tennis is shit. nothing spectacular. only good she can do is return the balls to her oponnents and hope for them to make mistakes

  • Wozniacki is the world number 1 because she plays way more tournaments than Clijsters, Serena and Venus.

  • PUSHER!

  • " njaaaah".."oohp"

  • Amazing rally.

  • score board!!!!!!!!!!

  • What she lacks in weapons, she makes up with grit.

  • i dont like Zvonareva pretty much

  • I thought womens tennis was a joke....before I saw this shit.

  • @276127612761 You faggot.

  • @276127612761 are u talking to urself lol :P But really, she is not nr 1. worthy a.t.m., she was in this vid, now she's just sad to watch. She can lose to anyone these days

  • @vandboeffel Clijsters not playing much has nothing to do with laziness or motivation merely that she's had injuries at unfortunate times. Don't get me wrong I believe Caroline deserves her no.1 title as long as she keeps it. If Zvonoreva or another tennis player gets the no.1 spot they deserve it too. Laziness has nothing too do with this.

  • Zvonareva deserves her #2 spot she has now, I hope these 2 will meet eachother again. Caro needs to up her game though, she's losing a lot of matches for the world #1.

  • I hope she'll win the Grandslam

  • szmata co mecze sprzedaje

  • what and you showed me ? NOTHING ? she is a pusher the end

  • Losing points like that can break anyones spirit.

  • Ok if she is number one show me the grand slam title that she will never win

  • Vera should of won this match and the title because she played the best and was the only player that was undefeated going into the semis

  • @tennisfan425 Well she lost this match, so apparently she didn´t play the best. But your idea to a change of rules is interesting: If a player wins all three round-robin matches, we skip semifinals and finals and declare this player the winner. Could be a bit difficult selling tickets and TV-rights for the semis and the final though.

  • Well, she's number one because she plays 35 tournaments a year .. She wins a lot of low-rated ones, and none of the important ones ..If you do the maths, nowadays, it's enough .. And absolutely absurd ..

  • @doofynetgraouw Apparently you don´t know the WTA-point-system. Only 16 tournaments count of which 9 are mandatory. In my world, if you don´t show up for work, you get no salary :-)

  • @doofynetgraouw In 2010 she played 22 tournaments. I don´t know where you get the 35 tournaments from. Could you please name them for me.

  • @vandboeffel I mean, she can play as many tournaments as she wants and can but really? When a Sharapova or a Serena Williams normally play like 14 in a year? (I mean the top players) that's the only reason she is no1, because she gets many free points from playing those little tournaments and, of course, winning them! She is a good player but until she wins a slam she won't be a true no 1 (like jankovic and safina weren't)

  • Comment removed

  • @jokisb There are no free points. The points you get from "minor" tournaments are just as good as the "slam" points. And when you add the points together, you find the true and only nr. 1. Actually it is much more difficult to become nr. 1 without winning slams. And you can not be number 1 if you don't play, as i.e., Serena this year. By the way I do not understand why you mention Sharapova. Even if she had played full schedule the last 12 months, she would have been nowhere near first place.

  • @vandboeffel You don't know why I mention Sharapova? Well, let's see, the last 6 tournaments that she played, which were Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, Rome, RG and Wimbledon she only failed to reach the SF or better at Madrid! (and before IW she only played 2 tournaments, one before the AO and the AO) These were all top class tournaments! did you see wozniacki on the SF at Roland Garros, or maybe in the final of Wimbledon? You didn't! at her age Maria already had her 3 slams out of 4 finals!

  • @jokisb Oh I do not deny Sharapova is a great player and it is good to see her back in form. But the recent form has not lasted more than 5 months and you rank nr. 1 on the basis of 12 months. By the way, you are being rather contradictory: When Wozniacki wins Indian Wells it is "a little tournament", but when Sharapova reaches semifinal in the same tournament it is " a top class tournament". Make up your mind please :-)

  • @vandboeffel all I said is that she plays many minor tournaments, that's why she gets many points! You can count with just one hand how many great tournaments she has won! 5 of her 17! Winner (17): 2011 - Dubai, IW, Charleston, Brussels, Copenhagen; 2010 - Ponte Vedra Beach, Copenhagen, Montréal, New Haven, Tokyo, Beijing; 2009 - Ponte Vedra Beach, Eastbourne, New Haven; 2008 - Stockholm, New Haven, Tokyo, ITF/Odense; 2007 - ITF/Ortisei, ITF/Las Vegas; 2006 - ITF/Istanbul - WTA facts!

  • @jokisb I am sorry but I don't understand your problem. Don't you think it is great that the current nr. 1 plays a lot of tournaments, instead of just 6-7 a year like Serena. By the way: Even if you only take the points she has made from major tournaments ( 5410), she would only be surpassed by Clijsters. So the majority of Wozniackis points come from slams and mandatory tournaments.

  • @vandboeffel all I'm saying is that a no 1 should not play the way she does (get the balls back instead of attacking them) and a no 1 should be tougher to beat at GS than at the other tournaments, like Serena, Venus, Sharapova and Clijsters are! Those 4 are true no 1 not like wozniacki, who always fails under pressure! She's easier to beat at GS than at the other tournaments and if she continues "Slamless" for long a new Safina is about to come! (pressure of not having won GS)

  • @jokisb Interesting. So you don´t think that a No. 1 should be measured by her results, but my some aesthetic standard concerning HOW she plays. I think you should go and watch figure skating instead my friend :-)

  • @vandboeffel You don't really understand do you!? this isn't going anywhere... You like wozniacki, I like tennis! and right now the only great champions on tour are Sharapova, Clijsters, Venus and Serena. like it or not that's the truth. Unless Woz changes her game style and becomes more aggressive she won't get near a GS title! and right now, till the end of the year she has LOTS of points to defend. Let's see if she's going to still be no 1 by the end of the year! My bet... Sharapova will

  • @jokisb No, I don´t understand. I thought we were discussing whether or not it is OK, that Wozniacki is WTA nr. 1. My point is, that there may be players out there, that currently is stronger than her. But based on the RESULTS (not plaing style or personal preferences) the last 12 months, she is by far the best player.

  • @vandboeffel look, on slams zvonareva reached the finals of Wimbledon and the US Open and the SF of the AOpen. Clijsters won the US Open and the AOpen. Carol reached the SF of the US Open and AOpen I think. In my opinion the ranking should be based on GS not on the points you get from all the tournaments, I don't know if u can understand what I mean, they should do some kind of ranking based on the Slams and of course with the "help" of the other great tournaments.

  • @jokisb Wrong again my friend. Zvonareva didn´t reach final in Wimbledon this year, and generally you seem to be forgetting, that Li, Sharapova, Zvonareva and Kvitova also have made points in minor tournaments. The magic score they have to pass is at the moment 5410 points. Anyway if you can not make points in minor tournaments, it will be very difficult to evaluate the strength of the lesser and upcoming players, and there will not be much incentive in playing these tournaments.

  • @vandboeffel about zvonareva I was referring to last year.

If serena wasn't her friend I would love to hear what she had to say about her like the way she talked about safina! do you consider normal that a player who has won 2 of the last 4 slams is no 2 and a player that never won any is no 1? I don't! When clijsters holds the US and the AOpen and Carol doesn't have a single one it makes no sense that she is no1. You got your point, I go mine. this isn't going anywhere...

  • @jokisb I know she was in the Wimbledon final last year. I just didn't understand why you brought irrelevant results in to the discussion. Anyway, who deserves the biggest paycheck: a part-time worker or a full-time worker? Wozniacki is playing full-time, Clijsters is not. Do you really want to reward unmotivated, lazy and injured players? Possibly Wozniacki will lose the nr. 1 position later this year. If so, I am sure the new nr. 1 has deserved it, whether it's Sharapova or someone else.

  • @vandboeffel like I said this isn't going anywhere.

She's a good girl, a great player, works hard, she'll get her GS but until then my opinion will stick ;)

  • @vandboeffel based on that Clijsters would be no 1! Li no 2, Sharapova no 3,Zvonareva no 4, Kvitova no 5 and Carol no 6. That's the way it should be! but based on the tournaments and results she had on the last 12 months (taking out the slams) she was the best player. But RIGHT NOW, the best player on tour is Sharapova! And Carol has like 5 titles to defend, the SF of the US Open and the final of the YEC. that's a lot of points to defend... she will fall from no 1 soon

  • @vandboeffel Look, I'm not saying she is a bad player, she's not, but her game style bothers me (and a lot of people) a little. Normally, she only gets the ball back in play and attacks only short ones. That's not a style worthy of no 1. She can be better than that! I saw a match of her against serena where she was attacking every ball and almost won, I loved that Wozniacki. All I'm saying is that a "slamless" player is not worthy of the no 1 ranking, not that she is a bad player...

  • @vandboeffel Oh, and btw she would NOT only be surpassed by Clijsters! she would be surpassed by Clijsters, Zvonareva, Azarenka, Sharapova, Li and Kvitova! that says a lot

  • @jokisb And btw, I don´t know how you calculate. Are you saying, that Zvonareva, Azarenka, Sharapova, Li and Kvitova has made more rankingpoints than Wozniacki in the 9 big tournaments: 4 slams, yearend and 4 mandatories. Can you substantiate that claim? I seriously doubt it.

  • Comment removed

  • @vandboeffel Maria has 15 Grand Slam SF! and you can count off 3 years which she missed to reach the SF of GS due to that major shoulder injury she had. In her time you had to face a Henin, a Clisters, a Williams, a Davenport, a Hingis or a Dementieva in the QF or the 4th round of Grand Slams! And she still won 3, against Serena, Henin and Ivanovic (at her best). wozniacki only reached no 1 because Serena got injured, Maria got injured (when she was no 1 in 08) and all the other players retired!

  • stupid COW !!!

  • I love you Caroline, go and get 'em!!!

  • Lol working hard should not be enough for a nr.1 ranking, there should also be a certain power and dominance, look at players like Serena, Henin, Graf, Hingis etc. they would outplay their opponents. Wozniacki can but doesn't want to do this so instead pushes all the way through the middle. It fathoms me how a nr.1 player can't put that ball at 0.30 away, when even most not pro's can. If she wants to win a slam she needs to play with more guts, as I heard commentators say time and time again

  • She has great court coverage:)

  • Nice point by both players

  • AWESOME video! I remember watching this being amazed at how she won this game, with a set on the line.
