  • i've been meditating for 5 years now and it's had incredible benefits! every day, i am thankful that i was able to learn to meditate. it gets better with time, but you have to keep at it.

  • cant belive im only finding this out now! O-O

  • Can anybody understand a full sentence this guy says?

  • how does one know if he is doing the techniques properly without training from any professionals? i know its more then the colors i see when i close my eyes, its the vibrations i feel through my body as i breath and my heart pumps the blood throughout my body, without thinking about other useless random sporadic useless thoughts throughout the day i just observe the activity of my mind and surroundings in total completeness, with a light heart and a heavy smile, can someone analyze me please?

  • @amoeboy I've done it twice already without any teaching. Most likely by accident...although I did "attempt" it when it did occur. It really really can only be felt. Best explanation is that when you achieve the alpha wave state...nothing around you seems to compute. It's as if the world could be burning and you would not be bothered by it. For instance...I had an amazing reaction during BOTH my experiences. I was actually able to see through my eyelids. Fully conscious...

  • Why doesn't he teach to indian's

  • @NiranjanShah123 More than 1 million Indian's have learned Transcendental Meditation. Also Maharishi gave regular talks in Hindi for the Indian population.

  • @maharishichannel I need to learn TM. I'm in Mumbai.

  • THIS TM IS VERY USEFUL AND HAD TO BE DONE IN CORRECT DEVOTION IT GREAT AND IT WORKS

  • Jai Guru Dev Maharihsi

  • very cool - Maharishi is great

  • So definitely my experience is that the effects of TM are immediate. But my question is, how long is it supposed to take to become enlightened? Decades? Lifetimes? Anyone know?

  • this makes me lol

  • I love maharishi - his techniques like transcendental meditation are very good for bringing more peace and happiness to the individual and therefore the world

  • maharishi yogi was a great siddha guru ,who had reached the state of union with the divine.this state is for always,it is eternal once attained.the west was lucky that he botherd with such fallen souls. may he rest in the heavenly abode of the rishis.

  • does weed spoil out mids purity? I wouldnt have thought so but he says drugs mess up our mind

  • @southstar999 Let's be practical about this. Any substance that affects the mind in an unusual way is likely to 'mess it up' to a certain extent.

  • @IpsaPaphum

    We are natural.

    Some substances are natural.

Your statement gives off the same essence as the words: always and never. I'm always right. I'm never right. Life does not work that way unless you say things like time is never a spoon. Non metaphorically of course. it could be like a spoon but I dont know.

  • I like the old guy's ideas which are the conclusions we have all reached more or less about health, education, politics and the rest. The entire system is irreversibly corrupt and if humanity is going to remain on this planet something pure and clean needs to replace the filth very quickly. I have tried various schools of meditation over the years but TM is one that I have not tried but, I am given to understand, involves finding an individual sound that resonates with the student

  • well the problem with TM that you need a teacher... what with people that lives outside of US?

  • give me the bible and the word of God anyday!!!

  • first aspect of TM when Maharishi come to the west was cosmic conciousenss...we all should achieve that in 5 years...when that didnt happen he added new things to his development teaching...and he has been doing so up to his death...yoga flying is the most silly...Maharishi himself was charismatic nice person, I practice TM myself, but not for one of the gurus goals...TM is a positive add to life, that s all

  • I payed 500 dolars for a lifetime gift, Transcendental Meditation is priceless. It takes alot of time and dedication to become a good TM teacher, and bills wont wait for you to do good then get a normal job to pay them, so yes, it is fair to pay the teacher, and the money that went to Maharishi was always invested in the University and the spreading of the knowlegde, never personal gain.

  • hell yea it is

  • SUPER

  • is this guy a guru? wow, he needs to hit the weight room!

  • It is interesting to see Maharishi becoming popular in the west He is great Guru of all time and in hearts forever.

Transcendental Meditation is simple and worth it every respect

    ji

  • I believe Maharishi was the greatest meditation teacher of this age. Still today there is not a simpler, more direct, more effective meditation available to everyone of every faith or nonfaith.. It was a sad day when he went into seclusion and stopped visiting the USA. He is my hero.

  • there is no money that can pay what TM gives...

  • I can't agree with you more: TM is priceless.

    Maharishi is a great teacher!

  • Transcendental Meditation is priceless - there is no doubt about it.

Maharishi is the wisest, brightest and happiest person I ever came close to - a real inspiration for us all!

  • I did learn TM technique and I did not ever regret any penny put in it. Even at the double of price it still be the greatest deal of my life. And by the way, how much money do we spent in a year for a car, clothes, nice coffee, CD, DVD, bottle of water, etc. ! This is not a fancy bottle of water, it's happiness and insight peace.

  • the world is becoming more spiritual by the day. it's great that there are techniques which allow people to dive deep within.....

  • To master such the technique it is not expensive. You pay only once, but you will use this technique of a lifetime. Jai Guru Dev!

  • When you have a true desire, be found optimal solution. To master such the technique is not expensive. When you to master, yourselves will understand, how I'm right! You pay only once, but will use a lifetime. Jai Guru Dev!

  • TM has a tuition fee. This covers the time spent teaching the technique and the many hours a teacher might spend answering questions and checking their practice over their lifetime. A good portion goes into projects to make it available in poorer countries as well. Plus, it's invaluable. Now that I practice TM, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

  • Sorry, but I too agree with emmerton that if TM is such a good thing for mankind, then it should be available for everyone & not only those who can afford the tremendous prices. He also mentions not being slave to money & education not being limited to employment.......... to create our influence in 'world conciousness & harmony'. It beats me why the prices are so exhorbitant & why his '' creation of heaven on earth'' , is so exclusive to only those that can afford these prices.

  • I understand your problem. But in Germany you have to pay for the church even if you are NOT a member. They get 30 billions every year. It is not discussed openly because it is a taboo-topic.

  • Maybe I might be the only one, but I experienced immediate effects with TM. I just felt a bit happier in the beginning, and my behavior was a bit more coherent. As for transcending during the practice, it was easy.

  • People spend money on material things and don't think twice about it. If someone really wants something, say, a car, then they will eventually get it. The tuition fee for TM is nothing when compared with the benefits that come with its practice. I like to say that it's priceless, because I can't imagine my life without it. Plus, the teacher needs to be compensated for his/her time.

  • sorry.. but if its really such a good thing for mankind.. it should be available for everyone and not only for them who can afford their tremendous prices for the courses..

  • I totally agree with you.. It is too expensive.. I would love to be teached more of his knowledge, but its too expensive.

  • taught, not teached.

    it's=it is

Sorry, but this drives me crazy!

  • Maharishi is speaking ultimate truth here.

  • this dude needs new teeth xD

  • he might be accepting donations, lol.

  • upo

  • God he sounds like Yoko Ono

  • Experience this technique and its resultyados vivi ... cambion positive experience in my many. Improve as a human being .. I became more sensitive to the living in general .. I supplement with nature to the point of shaking my body and every cell of my body to live every expression of it. A fantastic technique that helps us be better in the passage through this life. My greatest respect and sense of loss at not having it in this physical world. Greetings from Chile

  • "Donations" are everywhere within this "new age" or Ancient teachings...however you want to call it. We are taught to be generous to the point where some will give everything to devote themselves to a guru that lives better than ALL of its followers. What is that? I love the teachings to a point but must not let "myself" get lost to the point of lost individuality. They call that Ego, I call it God given right and place on earth.

  • "There are hundreds of these schools and it is mostly thanks to donations of well wishers around the world..."

It would seem that "donations" are built into the course fee to learn TM - that just isn't right. I have nothing against donations as long as they are voluntary rather than imposed.

  • If a Transcendental Meditation teacher was paid by the hour they wouldn't be getting much more than $20/ hour...

    I don't think its a donation - I think its MINIMUM WAGES!!

  • @splasher4444

    Where is $20 minimum wage??

  • maharishi is talking real truth here Transcendental Meditation is the key to the succes of students these days there so much stress and all kind s of probs...

  • Purity gain through transcendental meditation is incredible. Each 20 minuets are such a great blessing for person meditating and for whole environment. Maharishi's consciousness based education is the greatest boon for Education, for our dear children and for whole mankind.

  • At the beginning he of course is talking about purity and to me that is an essential point. He is speaking of the time it takes to get results relative to the overstimulation of the senses is he not? If the mind is overstimulated it is much harder to acheive those results if not impossible. This to me is more than just drug inspired. It may not sound like polite conversation, but we must not spoil ourselves with rich foods or sexual gratification either. We must turn off our TV's and limit media.

  • but if your not used to silence and staring at the four walls it can be just as scary as to much.

  • He is right about decoration with degrees....

    -----------------------------------

Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.

    = Albert Einstein =

  • @HeshimaJameni

    well said.

    I like this persian proverb:

"Seek the truth in meditation, not in moldy books.

Look in the sky to find the moon, not in the pond."

  • Great!

  • So true what Maharishi said - after each 20 minutes, the results show... instantaneous effects. And also definitely true about purity of food, lifestyle etc having a huge influence on the quality of meditation!

  • we are so blessed to have been given this knowledge

    JGD peace and love,JGD

  • true

  • Where can I learn more about this Meditation?

  • tm(dot)org is a really good website to learn about all the basics of Transcendental Meditation.

  • 13314u rightly said the Transcendental Meditation organization is a "Non Profit organization." So this means the course fee for learning TM is going to all the various projects of the organization. Show me one teacher of Transcendental Meditation who is rich because of teaching TM? They do it because it is a joy to share this precious knowledge NOT for the money...

World Peace is being created through the amazing efforts of the Transcendental Meditation organization. Thank you!

  • "The course fee to learn TM is simply covering operating costs." Even the new "reduced fees" are outrageous. And you can't convince me that they can justify them because of operating costs and aid projects. It just doesn't pass the "smell test".

  • The David Lynch Foundation is offering scholarships to those in financial need...

Have you any idea how many Consciousness-based schools and colleges there are around the world to help "at risk" children get an education that will actually help them deal with stress and the negative effects of poverty? There are hundreds of these schools and it is mostly thanks to donations of well wishers around the world...

TM is a technique that actually works, naturally the best is also the most expensive.

  • Like smell, it needs to be experienced. I wouldn't give up my TM practice for any amount of money. It is truly invaluable.

  • It's a lifetime program. That's the way it's set up. $1500 for lifetime membership in anything is absurdly cheap. As if you can even put a price on it. There is so much activity in the TM movement that produces no income at all and has such tremendous value for the world.

  • The Transcendental Meditation organization is a Non Profit organization. The course fee to learn TM is simply covering operating costs. Plus the organization has aid projects in all the poor countries around the world and is playing a crucial role in bringing World Peace.

Once learning the technique you can have follow up "checking's" of your practice anytime, anywhere in the world for free!

  • People buy drugs and party all night wasting $100's of dollars on something that is harming their mind and body. This technique once learnt is yours for life and you can practice it as much as you want. The benefits are priceless and the Transcendental Meditation movement has all kinds of projects to help the poor countries around the world.

In my opinion, the price of learning TM is cheap - it just depends on ones priorities...

  • It depends on ones bank balance. We are taught not to be caught up with material things but you need to have money to become enlightened. I think if one truly wanted peace on earth they would teach it for free. I am forever searching but I cant afford that, so what did i do wrong? i spent too much time learning about spiritual things and not doing enough overtime at work?

  • There are scholarships available for those in need. Visit tm(dot)org to find out more.

  • Wow they charge alot for that.Thank God he taught me himself, came free :)

  • Wow! These TM prices are more affordable... Thanks!

  • Transcendental Meditation Course Fees have been reduced now through April 30th!

Given these difficult economic times, and the rising levels of stress that are obviously affecting people throughout society, the need to learn the Transcendental Meditation technique is greater than ever. In order to help more people immediately participate in our TM courses, the fees are being reduced by 25% from now through the end of April.

  • * Adult course fee now: $1500 * Full-time student: $750 * Those in financial need, including single parents and retired people on fixed income: $750 * Couple: $1500 + $750 for partner * Children under 18 (if learning to meditate with a parent): $375

  • TM def works however when are they going to lower the fee's! Its so expensive!!!!

  • I know, like $2000 dollars a person. I thought Maharishi wanted everyone to be able to experience this movement.

  • The whole system we live, in Drills into us, that we`re powerless, that we`re weak, that our society is evil, that it`s crime-ridden, and etc. and so-forth, it`s all a Big Fat Lie..we are powerful, beautiful, extrordinary. Theres is no reason why we cannot fully understand who we trulely are, where we are going...there is no reason why the average individual cannot be fully empowered, we are incredibly powerful beings.

  • A tiny magnet can lift a paper clip, even though all of the earth is pulling it in the opposite direction...

makes you wonder what the field effect of consciousness is really capable of, all our thoughts are really made of is alternating electro-magnetic currents/fields in the brain, if a tiny magnet can defeat all of earth`s gravity pulling a paper clip in the opposite direction, what are our minds capable of... = )

  • I found this video heartfelt and encouraging.Maharishi's language and articulation I found to be akin to that of Deepak Chopra. Thankyou

  • That's because Deepak Chopra studied under Maharishi's guidance...

  • Beautiful!!!

  • amazing

  • very great,jai gurudev,thank u very much

  • Thank you very much for posting this

    very helpful
