=( To have stayed thru this and lived was amazing but the aftermath was worst part seeing so many peoples belongings like photos just scattered about, neighbors that just disappeared.I will never forget, just a shame so many americans have already forgotten about us.
UPDATE 10/08/2007 >> From Hurricane Ian: We are in the process of remastering all of our videos from the origional video tapes. Please check back as we will be updating these videos between October and December 2007. This should fix the blur problem.
When we came home 3 days after the storm, it was all I could do not to cry, Our beatiful way of life and our little city will never be the same. The sense of loss is overwhelming.
OMG...this is the town i was raised in till i was 15. icould recognize any part of it on film in 5 sec. Not this one, i had to stop and think where the hell would that be if...then i realized it was less then a mile from my old home...it hurts.
You made me cry! I try to explain to my family here in California how I felt living in Slidell, evacuating & returning to see this! The shock, sadness, horrible. All the camps on Ponchartrain gone, family & friends lost everything. I drove down the road for the camps, my heart broke when I saw a man sitting on what was his home on a ice chest holding his head, then seeing an elderly couple hugging as the insurance person spoke w/them re: their no-longer home. Sooo Sad!
