I went on Liberty of the seas last may and I had a blast. I went with my parents, my younger brother, sister and her husband. I have older brother and a sister in law but they were overseas for the army. Anyway my brother and I share a cabin and during the drill my brother was keeping his on eye.
I wow, I can't even imagine how loud the alarms on the new Oasis and Allure of the Seas are going to be. When they are finished, they will be the worlds largest ships, and the Liberty and Freedom will be 2nd

They are very similar to sports horns except they are over 20 of them around the outside of the ship. On the inside they use regular bells and beeps on the PA system. The horns are only on the outside.
I heard the general alarm on the Freedom and it was inside, but it wasn't very loud. I don't get that. I would figure they would have the alarm loud everywhere on board.
Then you were probably inside the ship. Because Freedom of the Deas also has the same exact airhorns as the Liberty of The Seas does and it's just as loud. Theres a video of it on you tube, go check it out
I just found a video of the muster drill alarms on the (Celebrity Century). It has the exact same alarms as the ones on Liberty of the Seas and Freedom of the Seas. Search Celebrity Century Horn

damn its loud i know right? i was on liberty of the seas. and you are far away from the ship and you would almost cry. I WAS ON THE FRICKEN SHIP DURING THE FRICKEN DRILL.

If I had to guess, the Oasis and Allure will also have the air horns, but I'm not sure

The muster drill airhorns are seperate from the ships horn. The ship has it's regular horns and has seperate airhorns for the muster drills

It might be louder than Mariner but not by much. Mariner is much louder than the "quiet" little Majesty.
