  • By age 25 he had two solo albums, one studio and one live with Purple, two with the James Gang (Bang, Miami), one with Billy Cobham (Spectrum), one with Alphonzo Mouson, and was on others... what a tragedy - don't do drugs

  • masterpiece. One of best uploads ever, many thanks

  • very nice introduction there by Ian Paice with John Lord as well.

  • I heard this on a radio program in '78,having only heard "Smoke on the Water" prior to this and I was "blown away" but when I got the Burn album,I was actually a little disappointed that the studio version wasn't as "heavy"!

Anyway,I've been a huge Purple fan since then but this version with Bolin will always be my favorite-thanks for posting!

  • I though the first MK IV concert was in Honolulu.

  • That 's Tommy Bolin (R.I.P) on guitar. Like Blackmore another great Purple guitarist. Check out Billy Cobham's album Spectrum for more on Bolin. (Or Come Taste The Band by Purple).

  • Never heard a solo like that in a live version of Burn, it's awesome work from the Man in Black.

  • this concert was in california at long beach arena

  • Okay Rata Blanca Iwant more

  • Where was this concert? I saw DP at Radio City NYC in 76.
