@prattface7 Haha, the UK version was written to end after two seasons and two Christmas specials. The US version has been riding the wave of its own success. Don't get me wrong though, I live in the US and while I absolutely love the British version, my loyalty is to the American one.

The US can't do subtlety, they have to be smacked in the face with a joke to get it. All the US Office characters are glorified morons which you can't relate to whatsoever. Look at the UK office, it has heart and you can become emotionally invested in its characters because you can relate to them because you don't have to have ridiculous gags to make the audience like them, just believable and clever writing to make them feel real yet funny at the same time.

I find the UK Office to be hilarious but the US version's style is just more "American"; its familiar in the same sense the UK version is more familiar to those in the UK. I know exactly what you're talking about in reference to differences in the style of humor, but that's not necessarily commentary on a lack of understanding. The Office US just appeals to a different culture.

in the Season 2 Drug Testing episode you should have Dwight interviewing Jim about the pot with Jim flipping it on Dwight to get a confession, or even the one with he asked Kelly. and The Coup episode when Karen shoots Jim in Call of Duty and it says "You Killed Jim Halpert" LOL. thanks for posting!

most of the stuff from the US version is copied and mainly originated in some shape or form but they just water it down, make it less Mockumentary like (less realistic) therefore less funny.

The characters aren't realistic, the jokes have been changed to US laughter track humour and it's gone on for so long to rake in the money.
