Horton-sagaen (engelsk titel: Days of our Lives) er en amerikansk sæbeopera, blev første gang sendt i USA på NBC 8. november 1965. Serien blev vist i Danmark på TV3 siden 1997. Programmet begynder hver afsnit med sætningen "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives." (Som sand gennem timeglasset, så går dagene i vores liv.)
Hey SoapOperaSpectacular someone stole this video from you and reposted it that user is SantaBarbaraSucksass Tell that person it's copyright infridgement when someone does that?
This has got to be a 1994 opening because MacDonald Carey passed away in March 1994, almost a week after his 81st birthday and up until then they still had him saying the second part of the opening "this is MacDonald Carey, and these are the days of our lives"
Indescribably gorgeous -- the theme, the title design, the spinning hourglass, the dawn and dusk backgrounds. When they were running the full 2 minute close during this time I always imagined that the hourglass would have looked better if they would have made it take the full 2 minutes to drift all the way back towards the back of the screen as the credits scrolled by -- which would also include a much more gradual fade to dusk than what they did.
@TimsDale4ever Now the dusk edition no longer has credits instead it's the Corday logo in the middle of the screen as if it were a real production company using the hourglass as background.
Oh, the sweet days of the 90's. I remember this beautiful theme as a child, and I always stopped what I was doing to listen to it and watch that hoursglass. I love it. I was born in 1993.
@east215 Yea I agree, the full theme was used until sometime in October 2009 and then they shortened it for some reason, I guess time, but I want the full theme back too.
@east215 I agree with you on that one I'm tired of watching the current opening of Days that's why I change the channel when the short opening comes on then tune back in to see the show again but I have to time it right, then during commercials I'll play the opening including the german version.
@louixie5 I miss the full theme, I wish they would go back to this. Macdonald Carey who played Dr. Tom Horton says the famous opening lines. Macdonald Carey passed away in 1994 and Francis Reid who played his wife Alice Horton died this year.
This gives me involuntary goosebumps

why the heck did they shorten it? It's only 30 seconds long!

@AnjaRuder No, he is fictional. Those who make Friends are days of... fans and named him after Drake Hogestyn the actor who plays John Black

I GODE OG ONDE DAGER
xxdylann 2 years ago
In Danish, that means, "In good and bad days."
mbsjrcc06 2 years ago
@mbsjrcc06 No, this is Norwegian. "Dager" is plural for "dag" in Norwegian. In Danish the plural is "dage." :)

I used Google's "language tools" feature to get the Danish translation, but in Norwegian, "I Gode Og Onde Dager" means "In The Days of our Lives."
mbsjrcc06 2 years ago
@mbsjrcc06 In Denmark the show is called "Horton-sagaen," the Horton saga :)
